toronto has a very active clubbing culture which can be compared to any other city in north america. Are you saying he would risk losing out on a significant fan base just to avoid being let down by his jacket for a day??? He used to frequent toronto quite often up till 2001. Im sure his not coming is a little more complicated than that. He plays in germany in january, im sure he could handle toronto in june |
look you don't have to believe me... but thats how it is. Yes it sounds trivial, but thats how princesses are, they have a load of demands and no its not all about the music. They have been so elevated by trancewhores, that they can ask for whatever they want and get it.
And Germany ain't miami, but it ain't canada either... its not that cold over there compared to here. |

No doubt, PVD is a very talented individual. I can see both sides of what people are saying.
Would i see him if he came? For sure, I really want PVD to come back to TO.
However, at the same time, one has to ask 'why he isnt coming here?'. He has many fans in Toronto and you know what, there is nothing wrong with people being disappointed/upset with the fact that he hasnt come here in so long. Not only that, he hasnt even mentioned any kind of reason why he isnt coming/or hasnt been here in so long.
I'm not gonna travel just to see a DJ. Other DJs come here more than once a year, and if he doesnt want to come at all, its fine by me as well. He's simply going to lose fans because of it, and if thats fine by him, thats all that matters.
He has been back to NA enough times since his last visit, so if he's not coming back, he should explain why. |

All of you complaining and griping about how if "he doesn't support Toronto, then I won't support him, etc.." I wonder how many of you have asked him personally if this was the case. |
if thats the case, he has an obligation to explain some of these reasons to his fans. Whether its the club/promoters, whatever. You dont leave your fans in the dark like that for so long. People will understand if he just gives his reasons. But when you hear nothing, how would you know that?

he came in june last time, its not cold in June. Also, he's been back to NA in the summer since the last time he's come here. |

toronto, eastern CAN, whatever. he hasnt come, and he's played (or will play) other canadian cities. what should people think?
i got nothing against the guy, but how long have his fans been asking 'why hasnt he come?'. All im saying, is that they deserve some kind of an answer from him about it. |

For our case, I believe there's some exclusivity deal with a club and/or they're not intrested in booking him because of his poor performances (Bal en Blanc comes to mind). |

loconut: You actually sound convinced of that. I agree with 2003 and maybe even 2004 to a extent but after that he lost it. And his productions? Sorry they have not been good since at least 4 years.
Irishaddict you are so in denial about the princess its not even funny.
This has nothing to do with TO. There has been many attempts from edmonton/calgary as well as other cities in canada to book him and i have heard a load of bull from promoters about how stupid it is.
Take a look at his schedule in the past 3 years.
Have you not noticed its ALWAYS the same cities in north america?
LA, SF, Miami, Vegas, New york and San diego. Some of those places get him every 3 months.
So what about the rest of the continent?
Some of you really need to wake up. |

Yes, I'm so in denial because I happen to disagree with you. I guess I didn't get the memo which made you the centre of the ing universe.
Are you personally acquainted with Paul? You seem to know a lot re: his reasons for not coming. And if you are - does he know you speak so highly of him? Give me a ing break oh ye great dartrance.. I really don't give a what you think of Paul now. If anything, I'm glad idiots like you won't show up at his shows when he does come back. Big bad mouthy man on the message boards I'm sure would walk up and shake Paul's hand if you had the chance. Because without people like him and what he's done for this scene, people like you wouldn't have gotten interested in it in the first place.
The problem is people are still waiting to relive that For An Angel glory of so many years ago. Forget the fact that tastes change, sounds evolve and artists ARE ALLOWED to branch in different musical directions. That would be okay for any other artist - as soon as you mention that with Armin, Tiesto or Oakenfold people start crying the blues. You can be a loudmouth on a message board all you want - I'm not going to try and convert you because frankly I don't give a . You show up in Central Park and you see the energy for yourself. If PVD is dog , then I'm black. |

Soo much animosity on this thread over a DJ...come on people.
Everyone has the right not to like a particular DJ....but to dictate opinion as fact is dead wrong.
I dont think any of us really knows why he hasnt come to Toronto..all we have are theories.
Im convinced it has do with one thing.....MONEY!!!!!
Clubs like the Guv like to keep their ticket prices about $20 dollars...and everytime Ive seen PvD...it has costed at least $50 dollars. Maybe clubs in Toronto dont like to jack up their ticket prices unless its a big event like Decadence or Labour.
But to me...its still worth the money. I like his sound that much. Ill be in San Francisco to see him 5/12 at 1015 folsom.
If anyone wants to take some shots at me now...Go for it...I wont fight back. |

Didnt PVD spin viva in 2001? i remember i used to have a flyer i believe for that night, it was a 19+ venue that night (at viva laugh out loud) ntil like 3am, and i think PVD came on around 1? this is the best i can recall from that long ago.
PVD @ Guv decade anniversary would be pretty spectacular though eh?
