PVD and Toronto (pg. 6)

Having never seen PVD in Canada but numerous times in various locationgs in the US I have always had a great time when he plays. I had the pleasure dancing into the sunset during his set last year in Central Park NYC and the new years eve prior to that dancing till the sun came up over Manhattan to one of his extended sets. He is consistantly on. sure, like others said, he may not jump around like a monkey on stage but the music he plays is a bit more melodic and designed for the journey it takes you on. That being said, it was crazy in central park last summer when the tracks would drop the bass and kick drums in the crowd just started bouncing in perfect syncronization! :) it was awesome to watch from the back and experience later on from being front and center. There were thousands of people who didn't get in just lined up around outside gates hoping to catch a note or two from the set. Occasionally some light would shine through and you would see the never ending mass of people hands waving and dancing outside the gates. It was a pretty memorable afternoon/evening with some great freinds and meeting lots more. I would do it again in a heart beat if I could! One of those feelings that can't really be described properly until you have been part of it.

About as old as Barry's "Tiesto with Toys R Us Turntable" thread.

lmao at the comments in this thread.

it is funny how ppl who call Djs dog and whatever are the same ones who stand in line at 8pm to see the same dj when doors dont open till 11pm. oh well to each their own. you have the right to bash the dj we have the right to be obssesed with the dj if thats what you call supporting the artist you like :)

Paul Van Dyk has put on some of the greatest parties i have ever been to in my life. I would not be into this music i beleive if there was no Paul Van Dyk. Accept the fact that he is one of the greatest Djs ever as i have accepted the fact that you are a door knob.

PAUL VAN DYK

Sure he USED to be one of the greatest.

Same exact thing with paul oakenfold and tiesto. If it was not for these guys tons of people would never be in this scene myself included.

My point is there shells of what they used to be. That is all i am saying.

Once in a while they may play one hell of a set but my expectations are nothing compared to what they should be for them anymore.

They definately should not be on the top right now but no one else is making a stir with innovation in trance music so i doubt things will change for a while.

that right there tells me that you know nothing about trance. dude come on seriously trance is much more than just tiesto armin and pvd. regardless of the fact that PvD is one of the greatest. he always will be atleast to me. what he has done what he is doing is simply something that not many djs do. every dj once in a while has bad night thats a given no one is perfect but having a off night once in a while doesnt change the fact of the contribution one has made to the scene. same goes for tiesto and armin and oakie. sure they are not what they used to be but i would not deny the fact that without them there will be a big void.

by the way what are your expectations of a top ranked dj. like what would you want him to spin or how would want him to handle things.

a dj gets flamed if he plays new music and no one knows what tracks he played. same dj next night gets flamed for playing all old tracks. and then a week later same dj gets flamed for having a boring set that didnt go anywhere for playing a mix of everything. alot of ppl say i expect much more from PvD or Tiesto or Armin or whoever the fawk ever. i would like to know what those expectations are :)

as for your remark about no one is making a stir lolz ... well if you look beyond the top djs and have a listen to ppl like Falkon and Fairlite, brisky & Coleman, Stoneface And Terminal, Percision, MK-S, 8-Wonders, Sunquest and loads more you would see that there actually is a bigger stir now than ever. you just dont get around to hearing it or dont bother giving it a chance.

What's with all this crap

Then what the F@CK BRING HIM BACK!

TranceGrooves
Folks one thing to keep in mind is that it is not that easy to book Djs. specially Djs that are in top 10 rankings. there are contratcs fees legal issues schedules and crap of load of other things involved. it is not just a matter of sending off an email and the dj would come in flying. oh and lets not forget club politics and booking agents / agencies politics with certain clubs :)

just have patience :D
