www.westelm.com has beautiful stuff... not sure if it's your style but there's a lot of contemporary pretty reasonably priced stuff on there....
also www.dwr.com has nice stuff but it's on the expensive side. I actually have to look at a bunch of sites for my furnishings & accessories class (I'm studying interior design) so if i come across more, I will let you know....
but def check out westelm ;) |

bought a malm queen size bedframe and a kingsdown pillow top mattress back in the fall and i love it. it is very sturdy (i weigh 215) and can does fine when i jump up and down on it (not to mention a few other things). So i dont think all of the ikea stuff is crap, just make sure you look at what you are getting from them very carefully.
frame: $200
mattress: $650
matching dresser: $100

Alot of you (just about all of you in NY) have met me... and you know Im not a small guy, right now I sleep on a twin size which is about 2" to short for me and my feet are usually hanging off the bed... plus the bed isnt all that wide either. So upgrading to a queen would be so nice and after I get my room redone, I wont be embarrassed to bring a chick back to my place, cause my room right now is chaotic and well, the bed is too small - lol.

Heres the idea I have for my room - I got bored so I sketched something out. Ignore the red spot, I used it as my vanishing point - and the 42-48in is gonna be more like 36in., the other side of the bed will be like 30in.
