i was just thinking about how many threads there are about cheeze songs and what is the worst tune ever and whatnont.. well heres my opinion, cheeze has its place here in our little trance world. just think back to the first trance or electronic song you ever heard... im sure this will hit pretty close to home for most of the USTAs.. but anyways, those cheese songs like Sandstorm, Dont Stop, Better Off Alone, Etc.. they draw in a new audience and attract people who dont know any better. The first song i ever really got into was Better Off Alone... why not? its a catchy tune, its techno, it made me listen to more techno and eventually I found trance and love it! My point it, we [EDIT]shouldn't[/EDIT] whine about cheeze songs..yes, to us theyre cheeze, but to others they are a door, inviting those who are interested into the world of electronica!

sure i kinda agree.. i don't really like sandstorm, but better off alone is pretty schweet..
but sadly, no matter what you say, there are always going to be these people on the net who are going to say "this" and "that" is crap and nobody should listen to it.. blah blah blah.. but ya got to realize everybody has thier own tastes.. some people like pops, some people like the raps and the r&bs but, really it's a shame that some people would insult other people for thier opinions.. it's like everybody on the internet thinks they're some god damned elitest and that thier opinion is supreme above everybody else..
my advice: relax, take in what YOU like.. and enjoy the music.. (: |

2)It is not techno......this is true......but then again.......not everyone has the same definition of techno. Techno in some circles is euro dance and in some circles......it is electronic music. But most ppl can tell between cheese and techno. I don't think it offends ppl that the dude called it techno, he made an honest mistake. |

let me clear somethin up.. in Minnesota anything electronic is techno period. its how it has always been and its just a regional term. i know its not right, but thats just how its dont here. whatever thanks tu_face i thought it may be a good topic....:rolleyes:

i never called techno cheeze and, if you read what i said up there, techno is a blanket term. deal with it, man. people talk differently in different places, kinda like in pulp fiction. "you know what they call a 1/4 pounder with cheese in england, a royale with cheese." so bitch all you want but dont even begin to give me for how i say things. i love techno, i was only trying to make a point about the whole cheese thing... this is a pointless argument anyways, i dont wanna be pissed of at anyone, and theres no reason for you to be mad at me.. its all over an opinion, which i am entitled to my own. not like i even said anything that would be offensive to any reasonable person... whether you want to be mad or get over it im not gonna talk about it any more, like i saidm its just a stupid argument, so no worries ok.

| I think that cheese is only calssed as cheese after people have overplayd it etc. I'll bet that the first time all u guys heard Better Off Alone, Sandstorm, u liked it! They are great tunes. Once they became overplayed and the pop people began to like it u guys thought, "oh well it must be rubbish if THEY like it" Other producers make there tunes to be cheesy like IvD etc, because they know they will make money out of it, and can u blame them? Liek marc said, cheese attracts the trance virgins to the scene, and they can learn to appreciate the real scene! |
