Check out the entire 'Score' album by the Fugees. You might also want to check out Lauryn Hill's album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill'. You can't miss with those albums.

Saul Williams isn't exactly "high energy" stuff to play at a party. As for suggestions, most hip hop, mainstream or underground can work at parties, save for some of the more high brow or experimental underground stuff.

DMX, Busta Rhymes, MOP, Canibus, some LL, Def Squad (Redman, EPMD, Keith Murray, Das EFX etc), Z-Ro, Chamillionaire, Westside Connection are a few names to try. Honestly though there is so much stuff, Hip Hop as a genre is generally suited to live performance/playing due to the prominent position of DJs in the genre and basically the nature of the genre itself - i've just thrown out some random names of stuff i've listened to in the last week.
