maybe they get payed to say good things about psytrance, because as a matter of fact psytrance is equally worthless as nowadays trance.

I think you are worthless too,no get lost.

The reason why most pys/prog albums get good reviews on TA is because those that review them are fans of that music. Big releases like ASOT and ISOS get mixed reviews because they are reviewed by fans and by people that dont like that music.

Prog/Psy listeners still follow regular pop trance but pop trance listeners dont usually follow prog/psy, thus why they dont comment much on the latest prog/psy release.

In other words, it all depends on who makes up your community.

I think also, ASOT listeners seem to get it in their heads that they "aren't allowed" to give negative comments on psy/prog trance, probably because psy/prog listeners tend to be more stubborn in their view of their music as "better."

^^ Exactly. All someone has to do is walk into their nearest top 40 store and they can pick up most of the latest trance releases, hence its very easy to have an opinion on. Psy prog is a sub genre within a genre, so its harder to know what your talking about unless your a fan.

Its funny when people compare trance and psy like they should be related. They evolved completely differently. One is club music and the other is outdoor music. Neither can I see psy prog breathing new life into trance... I really hoped it would at one stage, but trance seems to be drifting further away from the notion of being 'trancelike'.

So I guess 'trance' is what is is and so is psy prog. Completely different emotions and directions in music. Each has its up and downs but there is basically no connection between the two aside from the odd trance DJ playing a psyprog track and maybe some crossover artists back in the goa days (MWNN, uh... any other ones??)

Maybe what is trying to be said with "breathing new life into trance"
is "alternative choice of taste" and inspiring at the same time for new evolvement into the trance scene .

I agree. Psy is usually only reviewed by Psy fans so the critics are good.

I totally agree with The_Chris.

The ASOT-people usually don't even bother listening to anything beyond Anjunabeats, Armada, Somatic Sense etc. It's pitty since I would love them to listen to more progpsy and comment in the threads. No matter if they like it or dislike it it would be nice to hear more peoples opinion about the releases.
