And if you're building a new computer then go with PCI-E. Don't bother with an AGP card. |

PCI-Express is a newer technology. AGP was the standard for a long time for graphics cards and right now it's nearing extinction; you'd be much better off if you went with PCI-E for the simple reason that it'll be around much longer. It's always good to leave yourself the possibility of upgrading later on, in my opinion.
Also, keep in mind that that your motherboard will have to support PCI-E (majority of new motherboards right now are PCI-E) and your video card will have to be a PCI-E video card (again, majority of new video cards are in PCI-E). |

| The graphics for WoW are meant for lower end video cards, going anymore expensive than 400 bucks is just a waste of money for WoW. But good investment for future games coming out, I guess it depends on your gaming habits and how often you plan on keepin up with current games. Besides, if your gonna buy a brand spankin new video card, your gonna need a new computer if your old one is really old. High Infinity has the right idea, the Geforce series is good for WoW, as Ive heard of problems with some ATI cards and WoW before. |

I have a Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT AGP.
Absolutely love the card! Nice and fast, has HD output, and no fan! I got the silent pipe version, so that i could reduce the amount of noise my PC makes.
They also just came out with the 6800GS(for AGP), which imo is a much better deal than the 6600GT. I guess it alsp depends on which one you get. Some 6600s go for as little as 140, mine goes for 200+.
www.tomshardware.com is your best bet. |

If the board has built in video, as lopi's does, then I may think its AGP. Lopi, thats the first thing you need to check.
In addition to it being newer tech, and faster, its also cheaper. To get the same model card in AGP is now more expensive than for PCI-E. |

A LOT of girls play MMORPG's.
WoW was fun for a bit...now it's meh.
anyway, your card seems fine to me...unless you really want to go all out and spend a lot getting a high-end card; there is no point for WoW imo. |

she also mentioned that she wants to get a new computer; which is why I suggested to go with PCI-E. I see absolutely no point in buying a computer right now with AGP. |

Agreed. I bought my AGP card in December, because I didn't want to upgrade everything else. Everything on my comp is/was 4 years old. Im just going to save up, until i can afford a crazy computer which will last me 4 years again, as this one has. |
