Ha-ha-ha! U red my mind! Thoughts-reading is some new feature of Terninator? Btw, do you know what "terminator" really is? ;)
WOW, I'M A SENIOR NOW!!!! :D :D :D ...finally it all pays back :toothless

So, the_real_tough_one (that "terrible" :D ):
You have 12 steel balls (Not Eugene's! Not! :stongue: :p ) All of them look totally equil. But one of them is defect. It's either lighter, either heavier then the rest balls - no one knows
We have scales, that can show only: left pan is heavier, right pan is heavier, their weight is equil.
You have to find defect ball and tell wether it's heavier/lighter IN 3 WEIGHING!!

Good Luck! :)

I am almost finished with the answer, but I am really hungry and uhm i m going to eat something.... In half hour (or maybe never if i am wrong) u ll probably get the answer, after I eat, wash the dishes, and try to sort a way of explaining the answer.. TIP: work using an excel spreadsheet.. its easier :D

Oh and the answer to the second... THAT TOO WAS A GOOD ONE!!!:D

** Donīt read it itīs funnier to find out by your own **
1&2 Cross
1 Crosses back
10 & 5 cross
2 Crosses back
1&2 Cross

Total: 17 (there are two possible ways that make 17 minutes)

Okey the answer for the 3rd puzzle is....

Well itīs too long i ll just PM Cosmo to prove him iīve found out and wait till he feels out like posting the answer (besides its too long.. I already said that donīt I?? LOL)
DJ Fundamental
OK. I'll try the balls one, but I'm just thinking out loud....

12 balls, 1 defect. I would split them up into 3 groups of four... No, hang on a sec... 4 groups of 3 balls... Weigh groups 1 & 2... Oh this isn't gonna work. Bollocks. Then just guess which ball it is and then go and have a beer. That's my attempt, anyway...

Correct!
This a little bit clearer:
___0___1 2 5 10

1 2 ___2___5 10

2 ___3___1 5 10

2 5 10____13__1

5 10 ___15__1 2

1 2 5 10___17___

So, the new one.
Puasson's problem.
There's a 8-litres bottle with wine. Also you have 5 and 3-letres bottles (empty). You need to divide wine in two. How many times u need to pour wine from one bottle to another?
Please, answers give in such form:

8 5 3 (bottles)
8 0 0
5 0 3
....

Wasnt this riddle a part of Simon's games in Die Hard 3?
lol
as for the 12 balls-question
3 weighings..what do u mean? 3 weighing processes, meaning like u have 3 4'er groups and weigh them, then have a second round of weighing and finally a third?.. or really just 3 weighings?

No, no, just 3 weighings - you can weigh 1 Vs. 1, 2 Vs. 2, 11 Vs. 1 - whatever...
