Now that my brain has finally organized and filed the event in my brain. I feel I can give a full picture of what Bal en Blanc was for me.
I had been looking forward to this event for months and It didn't disapiont. I got there at 10:00 with my friends and imediatlly headed for the trance room. I quickly made it to the front. Marco G imediatelly sent me in into a dancing frenzy warming up my legs for the rest of the night. I was really into his set. I also met my first TA during his set but I unfortunatelly forgot her name. She took a picture of me and my fiance and quickly disapeared.
When Fanciulli came on I danced for a while but I really wanted to check out the rest of the place. So I danced around the place and quickly discovered that out of the three b&b I've been to the decorations and visual set up for this years were the worst out of all three. Last years white flowers were amazing(atleast I thought)Also I know this might be something impossible to ask for but I do wish they would do something with the windows in the halway of the Palais des congrès. For me partying all night and seing sunlight do not mix(maybe just a personal oppion). The only visual that was awsome wasn't even put on by the event and that was the four guys dressed up like clockwork orange charecters. I thought that was amazing and funny. Did anyone get a picture of those guys i've been looking around and I haven't seen one.
After dancing around the place for a while I sat down and met a bunch of people. Wich brings me to my next piont. The vibe at this event was the best ever. All the people I sat next to were very cool and open to conversation. Wich in my opionion always makes an event more fun.
Before long it was time for infected mushrooms to make there debut and I wasn't missing that for any conversation. I've heard good things, I've heard sets but nothing could of prepared me for their porformance. I danced nearly through their whole set. But I'm old so I eventully had to sit down. The good thing was I again met good people. However this encounter was a strange one. The two people asked how old I thought they were and I olbliged. One looked older than the other but I've seen that before. They went to tell me that one of them was 17 and the other 40. Not only that they were father and daughter. I thought that was cool. I've never seen that before. I wish all parents were that open with their children. I later saw the girl coming back from the bathroom drenched in sweat with her dad pionting to the exit. Then again I don't If I'd want somebody there telling me what to do.
Went back to the trance room and danced for a while but the opening of Armin's set didn't impress me. So I went to the house room and danced for while. But I felt armin calling me back and I coudn't resist. I quickly made it to the front of the stage and wasn't disaptionted. armin's beats quickly took control of me and I was lost for the rest of his set.
By the time Preach came on my friends were exausted and my fiance was dreading the drive back through the border. I was full of energy but when all of the people your with say its time to leave you can't argue with that. Howerver I convinced them to stay for atleast one hour so I could atlest hear my favorite. PREACH. He didn't disapiont but it was soon time to head back across the border to the dark land of the United States.
Good to go back to my native land. Hope to be back soon and hope to meet more ta's next time. Malek you have amazing stage prescence.

alrite, here's my review of deep dish...it's about all i can muster up right now...

sharam came out of the gates flying playing the perfect "bojangled" sounding tunes that you would expect to hear at 8am from deep dish....the programming was excellent creating a great flow for the first hour or two of the set...but after that i feel the set just went down hill....and don't get me wrong here...it was still a fun last couple of hours...however flow just became non-exsistent....

for example...the simi and masterkeys remix of dreams followed directly by the axwell remix....2 songs that don't really go together all that well....another thing that seemed slightly off to me was playing the eddie murphy sample after party all the time...it just didn't seem to fit right...

but other than that...i'm still really happy with the set...it was on average better than alot of the sets i've expereienced from them lately....like i said...the first portion of it was great....but when spinning a set from 8am-12pm following an act like peter rauhofer....the set is going to need to have a really high energy level and great programming to keep the crowd into it....however, i could not have asked for a better final track than to hear ali's new toon being played...

overall, amazing night....amazing party....my legs are fawked...and montreal is a great city!

but wtf turning all the lights on in the place for almost every buildup in every song over the last couple hours of the party? so annoying. ew sketchbags galore. didnt' need to see that .

a couple tracks that the boys dropped...i'll try to add some more as my memory slowly comes back to me...

sharam - say yeah
eddie murphy - party all the time (sharam remix)
dubfire - i feel speed
deep dish - dreams (axwell remix)
deep dish - dreams (dj simi and masterkeys remix)
axwell and steve angello- why

16 bit lolitas - sedna
til westwood - same man (sharam jey remix)
mark knight ft. katherine ellis - insatiable
Gustavo Santaolalla - The Wings(Gabriel & Dresden remix)
Queen - Another One Bites the Dust (Cedric Gervais vs Second Sun Remix)
kobbe & austin leeds- bodyshaker
royksopp - what else is there (trentemoller remix)
peter presta & junky junction- dance or cry
deep dish vs steve angello - hello acid
