| One thing I've learned is to never do computer work for relatives and friends. Once you do it you automatically become their personal tech assistant with around the clock service for no charge. |

network techs make 20-25 dollars an hour.
You can either do what it costs, or what its worth. Sometimes 150 bucks for that is worth it to someone. It should take 30 minutes max and probably cost 60 bucks but if you do a good job and ask what they were thinking FIRST its ALWAYS higher than what youd ask. And if its low say I was thinking somewhere around X but whatever youre comfortable with
people feel guilty or you can agree with their high price and make them feel right. Either way its more monah |

| I say a few hundred, network techs make about 20-25 maybe more depending on experience. Although, your aunt probably isn't expecting to pay you much money so be careful. |

In american money, charge about 35 to 40 cents per mile you have to drive considering how far it is. Seriously It covers gas and wear & tear on the car. Actually, with today's gas prices you might want to bump up that price.
Also make sure the amount you charge per mile also gets you a little money for the time spent on your way there and back. As you said, you are pretty far away.
And I'd charge like $50 for the first hour + 35 for each additional hour. With a certain time minimum. I'd say two hours minimum. So even if it takes you 45 minutes, still charge two hours. In some areas, pretty standard. In others, it's not. |
