The mixing sucks!!! I can mix better then that even without Ableton. Come on Tiesto, you make a load of money...get it right.
Music 8/10
Mixing 2/10 |
Ow come on...
Aren't you exaggerating a bit ? I insist you send me one of your regular mixes and I'll bet the mixing will be more poor than the one on ISOS5. And without Ableton ? Lol; that would be hard for you.
Except for that one transition colour my eyes --> empty streets everyting is just ok. Nothing special either, but what do you actually expect? What are those amazing transitions everyone seems to be hoping for? I'd like to know actually...
You can't rate the mixing lower than 7/10 ! |

I am exaggerating a bit. With that said, I just put Tiesto up there in "GOD" status and I feel the mixing on this CD fell way short of that. Check out Jon O'bir - Residency One CD if you want to hear the mixing quility I would expect from Tiesto. CD 1 had mixes that if I did them while recording in my living room I would feel like I needed to stop recording and start over. Sorry but there are alot of sub par mixes on this CD. I do like the music though. :) |

A. Without Ableton I can mix better than Tiesto has in the last 3 years using Ableton or real decks. (OK, ok, that's perhaps a bit of overkill & exaggeration, but meant to illustrate the point that Tiesto has fallen off incredibly.)
B. People's opinions are their own, if someone thinks that utterly simplistic and uninteresting mixing deserves a 2/10, that's their opinion, and I might add that it's been shared in more than one thread, by more than one TA with regard to ISOS5.

He was referring to Jon O'Bir, not himself. But if you would like to hear some "special" (or what the rest of us would simply refer to as "good" mixing), allow me to point you to the TA amateur DJ promotion forum... Almost anything you can get out of there will be more interesting than this. |

No you can't... You can't win from ableton when it comes to beatmatching. A live mix of you would still be worse mixed than an ableton mix.
And by the way. This is the first (and probably the last) time Tiësto has used ableton, lol. |

No offense m8, but if you really believe that, you're off your ... Perfect transitions and beatmatching have been around for a long time, far longer than Ableton or I. |

I hate to say this BUT I CAN mix better then ISOS5 CD1, the mixing sucks ass. I know you dont want to hear that, sorry. You are one of those people that dont even really consider how the CD is mixed. just WHO mixed it. I mean come on, the mixing sucks.
DO NOT GET ME WRONG! I like Tiesto but do NOT like the mixing on this CD. For an example, take a listen to the 2nd mix on the CD1 from Mark Norman - Colour My Eyes into Late Night Alumni - Empty Streets, it's terrible. |

You can mix with Ableton in a way you just can do with 2 turntables and a mixing board. If you dont know this then you have never used Ableton. When it come to precision there is no debate here, Ableton is king. Stop being an elitist and talking about something you dont know about. When it comes to making CDs Ableton is superior and is the reason alot of big DJs are using it. |
