You can mix with Ableton in a way you just can do with 2 turntables and a mixing board. If you dont know this then you have never used Ableton. When it come to precision there is no debate here, Ableton is king. Stop being an elitist and talking about something you dont know about. When it comes to making CDs Ableton is superior and is the reason alot of big DJs are using it.

Depends entirely on what you want to do. For just simple mixing of tracks between one another in order, theres no point in using it unless you suck at beatmatching.

Really? :conf:

You made the comment below and I agreed with you. How does me agreeing with your comment have anything to do with what he said?

A. Without Ableton I can mix better than Tiesto has in the last 3 years using Ableton or real decks. (OK, ok, that's perhaps a bit of overkill & exaggeration, but meant to illustrate the point that Tiesto has fallen off incredibly.)

B. People's opinions are their own, if someone thinks that utterly simplistic and uninteresting mixing deserves a 2/10, that's their opinion, and I might add that it's been shared in more than one thread, by more than one TA with regard to ISOS5.

He was referring to Jon O'Bir, not himself. But if you would like to hear some "special" (or what the rest of us would simply refer to as "good" mixing), allow me to point you to the TA amateur DJ promotion forum... Almost anything you can get out of there will be more interesting than this.

No offense m8, but if you really believe that, you're off your ... Perfect transitions and beatmatching have been around for a long time, far longer than Ableton or I.

PS: Learn not to argue with people supporting your side of an argument, douche... and beyond that, do your ing homework before you ever make such a ing moronic and foolish post again...

You're just stubborn... Hooknife was correct all the time. And by arguing like a little shouting kid you just lose more credibility...

Ok, so let me just make sure I get what you're saying here: According to the logic of both you AND hooknife, it is IMPOSSIBLE to beatmatch perfectly without Ableton. Correct?

I bet a lot of the top vinyl jocks out there would be shocked to hear it...

There are a ton of top jocks out there who can drop a beat perfectly and do -all that's more interesting than Tiesto's utterly boring Ableton mixing...

+A Million.

I couldn't possibly be more tired of seeing a new DJ every week jumping on the Ableton bandwagon.

Also... just saw this...

And yet one of the top rated compilations of last year had -all to do with Ableton (see: Balance 008), interesting... Ableton is only "superior" if you use it in a manner that goes beyond what you could do on decks and mixer, otherwise, all it says to me when I read "Yeah, I'm using Ableton for this" is "DJ'ing is hard, so I got a computer to do it for me!"

Please...

Stop being an elitist and open your mind to change.

Yes, it does give people who don't know how to beatmatch the ability to do so. It DOES NOT give them the ability to make a mix “flow” or better taste in music. Just being able to beatmatch is a far cry from being a good DJ.

It’s called CHANGE and its OK, I don’t feel threatened like yourself.

When it comes down to it....I don't care what the hell the DJ is using, I just care about whats coming out of the speakers.
