- Pre-planning sections of your set, and writing them down?
- Sorting your records by BPM?
- Using Ableton because you are not a good dj?
- Making edits of tracks strictly so they work better for your set/style or to remove/add parts (in essence this is pre-planning)
- Playing the same 1 track in every set?
- Being a DJ who only plays big tracks/ASOT hits?
- Playing good tracks, but only mixing the last and first 30 seconds?

Other than the last three I'd see these are all characteristics of a good DJ. |

No, a good DJ is one who makes you forget that he's doing anything to the music/playing separate songs at all.
It should all just flow, like an unresolved, infinite track that keeps going, in perpetuity.... |

i have a life.. its disco and italo. im just lending youa helping hand as it seems you dont know much about that era |

I don't know much about that era because you think I got a ing date wrong and you didn't bother to check whether the track I had up there was the 91 reissue rather than the original?
If this is your life, it really shouldn't matter that much to you. Go find a craft project to do or something. |

That's partially what I meant. The DJ should use every tool and technique at his disposal to achieve this. If it helps him to write down notes, use computer programs or wear an exotic hat made of dried fruit, then all the better. But for some reason some elitists prefer to worship some old and obsolete piece of technology rather than appreciating the music itself. |

| I dislike people who preplan sets by picking records. I rather see a deejay just go with the flow. If a deejay wants to use technology to help the set, then go ahead. |
