Review: Sander K @ Crobar (pg. 2)

Of course, I didn't realize at the time that saying that meant I deserved another punch to the face. He's also going after my friend Carlos at this point. I'm pretty pissed off after the second punch so I wanna get back at him but his friend is fronting me and holding me back while he is circling us. Being the classy guido that he is, he then decides this is a good time to spit in my face and start throwing racial slurs at me. We realize then that it's all really not worth it, so we back off and start heading back to our car.
We're walking back to the car and I start cursing at the guys. They decide to come after us, so I figure I'll call 911 and get these guys arrested. Well, they eventually do catch up to us and, as they do, a cop comes up but just drives by. ing ridiculous - keep in mind I'm on the phone with 911 at this point and I've told them exactly where we were. Then, out of nowhere, the guy that had been holding me back before suckerpunched me. The glasses go flying and my ass is on the floor. Apparently they were trying to get my phone from me but I had a death grip on the damn thing and I yell to the 911 operator that I've just gotten my ass handed to me. After that I probably had a minor concussion because I don't remember much - I guess the guy whacked me pretty hard....
Anyway, we've got third degree assault charges on these guys but that's just a class A misdemeanor, which ranks up there with beating up a police horse. Don't think we'll ever catch these guys either... although, they started hitting us right outside Manhattan Motorcars by the Lambos, so if there's a security camera there, we are probably on it.
Well, I am really so ing sick of the attitudes so many people have in this city. This whole small penis guido proving yourself bull has to stop. I mean I called you an idiot - I don't think that means I deserve to have my lights knocked out for 20 minutes. |
What they did to you was completely wrong but at the same time, calling a short-fused, juiced up guido an idiot probably isn't the smartest idea. They have nothing to lose but i'm sorry about your night man, that just sucks. |

I wasn't really that impressed last night. It was one of those evenings where I had to get fairly ed up to have a good time. Thank god we got in right before midnight and didn't have to pay. We haven't seen Sander in awhile (last summer I think) because the last few times we saw him, he played like he did last night (boring, monotonous and not going anywhere, with a few good tracks mixed in to break things up). Will someone please explain to me why the hell he was playing from the booth upstairs??? Also, the bass was really muddy.
We closed out the night, and at that point, I don't think any TAs were left (at least ones that I know).
Intermilan - How did you miss signs everywhere outside that said Desyn wouldn't be performing because of an illnes? There was a giant poster of it above the guestlist table, too. |

Ok, this is my version of the night:
We get in at around 11:45, whoever the opener was (Santana?) was pretty good, I was really liking his track selection.
Sander comes on later, I'm guessing at around 1:30. His set started pretty good, played some electro and his visuals were great, def. helped to make the party better. We left at around 3:20.
Like Arn was saying, we were in front of the dealership looking at the Lambos, suddenly this ing badly dressed loser ass guido comes up and tells us how much his Gallardo sucks and how much trouble he has getting it past 4th gear. I looked at the guy for a bit and just noticed his cheap shirt, pants, and shoes, there was no way he drove a Lambo :P
Anyway, I ask the guy what his fav. car is, insecurely he replies: Ferrari.
Me: Which one?
Him: You know what my all time fav. car is? Benzes. Those things are the ing blablablaba. Shifting gears on it is so much easier!!
Arn: Dude, Benzes are automatic.
Him: You know which one I like, the SL55, it's a cheetah compared to the Gallardo, 650hp!!!
At this point I was getting annoyed and just wanted to leave. Then he starts talking about why German cars are more expensive in Germany...duh, bc they're all owned by Chrysler...
Anyway he gets louder and louder as he talks, obviously getting more and more pissed off bc we were proving him wrong. His friend just stood there the whole time smiling.
I hear Arn call the guy an idiot and this is when he just flipped out. He starts acting like a ing ape: you wanna fight me bitch? You got something against me blablablalba...
He pushes Arn, I can't remember if he punched him, but Arn was just standing there like wtf is going on.
The guy comes to me, I have my hands in my pocket, he starts yelling at me about giving him . I'm like: dude, chill out, I haven't opened my mouth yet. He pushes me and next thing I know he punches me in the face. ing loser punched so light, at first I didn't know he hit me. He did manage to hit my lip and cut it with my teeth, so I started bleeding but noticed later.
By this time Arn was pissed off (he got punched twice) and tried getting the guy, but he hid behind his friend. It was quite funny to watch. A grown up guido...running around his friend like they're playing tag...only so no one could punch his make up out. The other friend, the bigger guy, was letting Arn know how much he could kick his ass. The guy did manage to kick me at some point and always hid behind his friend. He also spit Arn while hiding behind the other guy...talking about having balls...
We then walk away, Arn is yelling some at them and the guys start running after us. Arn calls 911 and the guys slow down a bit and started doing the whole ape thing again. Then they proceeded to try to take Arn's phone pushed him on the floor, I run there, the big guy gets in my way and some cop car drives by, slows down and drives off again. Next thing I know the two guys are on me like they were both gonna punch me at the same time but they run back to Arn to get his phone. The guido says something runs away. The big guy stands right in front of Arn and punches him all of a sudden and runs away as well. Then some cop comes, we get in the car and try looking for the guys...the rest Arn explained already.
Night started good but ended pretty ty. Those guys were obviously looking for trouble and for a way to make themselves feel more macho. ing losers. Too bad they're not gonna get caught...the detective is supposed to call us by Monday, we'll see what he says... |

calling random people on the street in New York City idiots isn't usually the best idea if you don't want to get punched in the face. That definitely sucks though. |

I agree with all who said that Sander was good until about 4-4:30. I left around 5:30 and the last hour was pretty meh. Not so much with the energy. The earlier part of the night I really enjoyed though.
Choobak/DarkFall01 - it sucks that happened to you guys. There's no winning against guys who are out looking for a fight. Even if you whoop on them, you get nothing out of it. Next time, just try to get the heck out of there.
This is my first post here, so hi to all. I'm sure I saw a bunch of you at the show, but I won't figure it out till next time. |
