U forgot the number 1 reason to buy a Mac and its the thing Mac ownz Windows the most: digital photo-editing. Its not for fun every company who has anything to do with photos and photo-editing uses Mac.

It makes even less sense now than it did before.

yeah i would suggest the mac laptops very nice to have a nice long battery life while on the go. plus very well machined case nice software and great support.

One of the points of having a Mac is to avoid Windows.
And benchmark tests shows the Mac Book running Windows faster than any other windows based machine.. HOW bout them apples?

Yeh owning a Mac is just like having a 200mph sports car - that has no seats.

Yeh it might be because:

PCs are much cheaper to buy.
PCs are much cheaper to upgrade.
Windows Users can duel boot with Linux, which is more stable and more powerful than any Mac OS, and you can boot back into Windows for games.
Windows runs a lot more games and applications.
Windows games and applications are cheaper.
Geek users prefer Linux, gamers and regular people prefer Windows and shallow image conscious people with too much money to burn prefer Mac.
Mac users are outcasts, who should be fed effluent, if fed at all.
Mac runs lots of adverts showing of the aesthetic properties of their products rather than the features of the products, probably because Mac products are virtually featureless and overpriced.

i second this guy :o

i wouldn't go for a mac unless all i'd do with it would be photo/music/video editing. altho, i'd say mac os is probably the most user-friendly operating system. but given i'm not a noob, and i'm addicted to over a decade of windows usage, that wouldn't be a factor. and i like gaming :p

but it's your choice :)

Windows is found on the cheapest systems. People see advertisments, a desktop, printer and display.. I have seen prices for those strating $300 up to a few thousand. But for the cheap systems, XP is like $200 alone... (probably not the best built PC)

Whats awesume about mac's is Apple makes the OS and only goes with Mac computers. Its like a cult sometimes.

300,000 known virus' for Windows..
For Mac's you cant even count the number on one hand.:tongue2

There certainly are viruses for Mac, but for the most part people don't bother writing them because there aren't enough Mac users to warrant it. Macs are not inherently more secure, in fact there are far more blatant security holes in them waiting to be exploited if anyone could be bothered to target the miniscule number of people who wasted their cash on a Mac.
