Got two exams tomorrow, but since I'm taking a little break I'll write a little :p ... will write more tomorrow night.
Some fellow TAs helped me out and I was able to go. During the day I was thinking to myself how it's going to suck big time if I miss Sander, but thankfully it all worked out at the end, and I was there....:eyespop: :D
XL was pumping the place up very nicely. He spun Rej which is just an awesome tune and then that last track, Lost Control, that all-nite was going nuts for was a very sick intro for the Sand to come on.
Sander was good, he was excellent. Seeing as how he spun 8 hours, he did a remarkable job with all the tracks that he kept laying on. I was VERY HAPPY not to hear Muscle Car or Mr.Roboto during these 8 hours...thank you for that, Sander...BUT:
He could of been better :p He spun cheesy that I guess he had to spin but they put me off. Plus he would have his little 'breaks' and leave one beat to go on for like 10 minutes with no change...got pretty annoying to dance to, but as I say it was like a 'break' so I took a break myself when something like that happened...
Another criticism: the visuals were nothing special. I was pretty syked to hear it was a DVDJ set, but meh, all we got was the words from some of the vocal tracks ('Prancing...and Dancing...Moving..Keep on moving...' :rolleyes: Im sick of that song lol) goin with the beat..
Overall tho, Sander was ultra-sick and I was there until 1PM :D Out of 10 he gets an even 8 for me....EXCELLENCE
The TAs:
all-nite: dancing monster, seeing you on the speaker with Azia, having so much fun pumped me up big time to dance...You shouted something at me from the speaker like 'Nick I'm so happy you came woooooooooo' hahaha it was great!
Special thanks to Stereohead, aria_clubber and Piett for making the night possible for me. Glad you all had fun. Hakim you were goin so nuts in the first 3 hours, it was great to see u dancing.
chikadalka: we never really met but you came to me once asking 'are you hakim' and then 2 hours later you asked me if I was his brother :p..I'm his friend, Nick, just for future reference and it was great seeing you sticking around until the last beat...:)
oneeleven: again, not really introduced, but I offered you a joint and you very politely said no :D I was dancing right above you as well near the beginning of the night (you were on the stairs...) You looked like you had fun.
It's nice to see out-of-towners partying and loving it so much in Montreal. :D
magikb: so cool that you made it. You, me and Hakim are troopers!! Can't wait to party with you again. And I was so happy for you when 'Miami' came on....'I'm so happy, I get to go home yesssssss' you tell me Hahaha....and you stayed till the end. Bless you :)

Everyone who went to Sander knows that it was one of those 'special nights' that comes along once every three-four months in a place like Montreal. It was just great to look around the room and see so many TAs and then see all the other clubbers just feelin Sander's beats, who is an icon, who will be a legend, whether he plays cheese or not.
The hightlight of the night for me was a song when almost everyone on the boards was on the dancefloor, the lights were bright illuminating Sander's huge smile and the drop that came....cannot be described...

Very nice to sort of meet you too! If I had taken you up on that kind offer, I would have wanted to stay even more, but my friend was pooped and wanted to leave. And that was a special night indeed~ I loved meeting so many new people and the whole nite had one of the best vibes I have ever experienced! |

and the troopers will live on forever.. although we were the only 3 troopers sitting for a longer period of time as well (well and Dan too sorta...hahah)
Yeah, once Miami came on.. that gave me my energy that I needed and I then thought to myself "I am NOT leaving until this man is done!"
God, sometimes I just need to learn when my body has had enough and just leave but these damn dj's make it impossible for one to leave the floor :D |

Hahaha...that's one thing Aria's definately got over Stereo is the fkin COUCHES! Geez, there's just nowhere good to sit at Stereo at all. Seriously wicked night though...As dead as I was, when This is Miami came on I felt no pain! :D Sander destroyed it. I've never seen such an intense set by a DJ!
I couldn't believe he played 8 hours! Longest set I have personally ever seen. Proud that we all stayed till 1pm though, even though I didn't have much left at all by then. And the mix of Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek...:crazy: :crazy: :crazy: :crazy: Song of the night for me...just such a beautiful one to end off the night. WHAT A NIGHT. I knew this one was unmissable, even with BEB the week before and not having fully recovered, there was no way I was gonna miss Sander, and he proved me right for hours and hours.
Great chillin with Jenn and the TAs...you guys fkin rule. Erika you were too funny, you had that look on your face as if you'd just seen God like allll night. :p
I probably won't be partying with all of you for a goooooood while, since I'm leaving to Greece for four months in 11 days! So have a great Summer everyone and party hard. :D |

MY VERY LATE REVIEW (me doesn't have internet at home anymore :mad:)
I woke up at 11:00 AM on saturday, got excited all day for Sander, went to erika's place met mitsutranza(nick) and piett(julius) to chill for a bit, then left home, i tried to sleep but was unsuccesful (too much stress looll), then started listening to very loud sander k sets at 1 AM to 3 AM to pump me up lol !!!
went home got a lift to berri uqam, waited for a friend and nick(mitsutranza) ...
we met up then went to the line-up... GOT IT WAS RAINING !!!
got inside after 15 minute, hearing that sound system OMG soooo loud and powerful...
when i came in XL was playing Filterfunk - Message In a Bottle (Delano & ??? Remix), he was banging the place. it was soo hot inside omg it was ridiculous. Then Xl plays REJ - AME (GOD I LOVEEEEE THIS TRACK) !!!
i was sitting with FunKenLouis talking during all XL's set, it was good but i wanted to keep energy for the night since me was going sober !!! not like u n junkies :p :p :p !!!!
then SANDER KLEINENBERG came on OMFG , i went directly by the front speaker and started dancing like crazyyy for the 3 first hours !! then got a bit tired, decided to relax for a good 2 hours but it turned out to be a 3hour rest lollll i was tired almost fell asleep !!
Then suddenly SAnder Droped this Switch - A Bit Partchy (????? new remix) WOWWWW SOOO SICKKK , isuddenly starded dancing craily again till the end and yess jenn i was dancing to that very gay george micheal track ROFL that track was soo bad but wtvr since i have energy with stereo's soundsystem bassline , cant stop moving !!!
THIS IS NOT MIAMI that track was pretty sick !!!
Sander Finished at aprox 1:10 was a INSNAELY GOOD SET !@!!
Very proggy and tribalish with a bit of electrohouse sometimes ...
best part was the first three hours !!!
