| Of all the clubs I have ever been to, Spirit still has the best lighting in my opinion. , I just like the entire atmosphere in there. But I know I will get a lot of dissagreement out of this statement. :p |

as for the main clubs in nyc yes i think spirit has the best soo far. atmosphere is usually good most of the time . i agree with ya |

Do you mean the lack of lighting? I understand if you don't enjoy the bright lights at some other venues. However, Spirit is usually a dark cave except when they used to have the Day-Glo, outer space decorations which were horrendous. Glad I haven’t seen those recently. |

Well yeah I guess. I love how it is a smaller venue with "darker" lighting. I mean, there is always a constant supply of some sort of lighting in there but they don't go ape with it, keeping that darker atmospher while keeping it lit enough to see. :) |

I kind of agree, though Crobar overdoes the lighting quite often. Maybe low lighting is great for people with dilated eyes, but for those of us that don't do things that cause the dilation, it's annoying because quite often you can't see that well to make your way around. |

there is absolutely no reason to make this comparison. spirit has zero things in common with twilo besides the street address. twilo had really cool lighting. what was most incredible about the lighting at twilo was if you saw sasha and digweed or paul van dyk for a long set you'd never have the same visual experience twice. as the music progressed so did the mood set by the lighting and it just never really looked the same at 1 am as it did at 2 am or 3 or 11 am. they also had these really cool neon rings on the ceiling that lit the place up in a strobe sort of way without the seizure inflicting flash. i wouldn't know how to describe the rest of their lights, but yeah, no comparison to be made with spirit. i guess towards the end of it all the were bringing in full on lasers.... pvd's last gig there was the only time i experienced them. but the club's own lights were way cooler than any of the big clubs around now. |
