Winter is nearly here.... I need more BASS!
Diggs
Easy answer, get Spectrasonics Trilogy and work from there!

Its the best bass vst hands down.

I know these might be obvious but here are some things to try for a warmer bass:

- Detune the oscillators
- Square and sine waveforms
- "Tube" distortion/saturation
- Subtle room reverb
- Chorus
- Pitch LFO modulation

just play a long note on the best bass patch you have and then boost the lows. play with the filter envelope to you dont have any unwanted higher bass sounds that make it less warm and with the cutoff. then have this as a sub bass channel. and use another bass channel for the higher bass duties. then you get the warmth from the low one and the sound from the clean one..

thats how i sometimes do it. but my bass isnt that warm:(

Here's an example of a bass I processed with...

|
Unison (Almost like chorus, but a little different)
|
Tube saturation
|
Chorus
|
Tape Compression

(First part is dry, second part is processed)

(bah, double post)

Eldritch, I actually thought the dry part sounded better.
Seems all the processing took some depth out of it.

I disagree, actually squares sound very hollow, and sines make much better leads, IMO. There's no depth to either one unless you run them through a tube amp, which tends to introduce more partials anyway. Saw wave is best, I'd say, what with having every harmonic play.

The tube amp is a nice suggestion, though.
