Had a calc 3 exam on Friday, I was late to work because the exam was MEGA LONG, worked till 9:30 pm, went home, slept... Worked saturday 1 pm - 9 pm then saw Soulfly at the Whiskey after work (Mantis and Freeform opened). I got punched in the jaw, elbowed in the throat (I thought I was going to die!), got knocked on my arse by a guy that weighed 325 lbs and broke my cellphone (I knew I should have left it in the car). My arms are still sore from the show. Soulfly shows are always devastating, especially when they play the old Sepultura songs from the late 80's, early 90's. I worked Sunday and had the traditional Rancho Taco that we always get for lunch on Sundays. We were all stuffed with food and bored for the last 30 minutes of our shift so we drew a target and started hucking eggs at it

Dropping eggs from 25 feet up is addicting for some reason, I love to see them splat and make a huge mess.

Pull up contests on the forks of a lift 25 feet up are great to wager on. Everyone is a winner...... except the dude that falls or worse...... begs like a dog to be lowered because he can't hold on much longer.

Weekend Started thursday with going out to the LA harbor with the marine bio lab, set out an otter trawl and caught a ton of organisms. I would like to point out this is the first time I saw the Cancer gracilis known as the slender crab in the wild. Also, it didn't end there we caught baby Loxorhynchus grandis (sheep crab) and even two Portunus xantusii!! (Swimming Crab) I was really excited after finding all these new species to me right here in the waters close to us. Friday I signed up to join the Marine Biology Grad students in their monthly sting ray beach seine and seriouslly I would advise everyone TO NEVER GO INTO SEAL BEACH. Within 50 ft of the shoreline and a good 100ft across, we caught 150 stingrays..., their goal was to remove the stingers (regrow), and record sex, size and weight. After that I headed back to the dorms, and now had to pack, I was going to leave at 5 PM to go camping at San Onofre Beach till sunday. So a group of us drive down, setup our tent and spend the night, the next day we all go to the tidepools and seriouslly I have never ever seen such nice, lush, teaming tidepools as these! I found alot of organisms, octopi and spiny lobsters to name a few, but what really got me was the species of crab! I found both Cancer anthonyi (Yellow Rock Crab) and Cancer antennarius (Brown Rock Crab) living right on the shore! Oh man, this was too much for me to handle...excitement of course :). I collected some dried up ones and brought them back, that was pretty much how I identifed them. Sunday we came back and I had a huge marine biology exam on monday, I think it was the proper way to end this weekend...oh and I got alot of sunburn :D .

Everytime I read cancer I cringe a little bit, you get all happy because it means crab but when I hear it in lab that means I have to wear nitrile gloves because something wants to alkylate the protiens in my DNA :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:
