| i would have done the same... i remember finding cell phones and calling the ppl and having them pick them up from my house... some of them didnt even say thank you but u know what.. thats their call not mine im a nice person and i would want someone to do that to me if they found my phone thats why i do it:) |

I was bouncing at a bar one night and I saw a guy pull about 300 bucks from the atm he then took his recept and card and left the money in the slot. I grabbed the money before another drunk patron used the machine and took it. I then went up to him and handed the cash back. he was very very thankfull. I then informed him he was cut off at the bar since he had clearly had too much if he forgot in a 30 second period of time that he had withdrawn 300 bucks and left it. (his speech also confirmed it). i caught him with a drink his buddy gave him like 5 minutes later, he got the boot.
It was really bitter sweet to be nice like that and then have to ask him to leave a few minutes later. |

I had my phone stolen out of my car while I was at a job site for a few minutes this summer. I called it and the guy picked up. I asked if I could have my phone back, he said no and hung up. I called back again and offered him 250 for it bc I needed the numbers out of it and he couldn't resell a telus phone for much after i called it in stolen... he told me to get lost. that was that.
I had a buddy in Toronto who did the same when his phone got stolen, the guy agreed to meet up but only for 200 bucks. he agreed and showed up with five buddies and took his phone back and walked away telling the thief to go f*ck himself. I was hopefull for the same result but the guy who took mine didn't take the bait.
if it was lost then I totally would have honoured a reward for it. |

Manila is in the Philipines yes...south east asians...thus the reason they look asian. There is some Spanish decent in there as well. Unfortunatly you are right now, it's not that rich of a country. |
The people in Manila were SUPER nice. Unbelievable. Armed guards everywhere and security to the max. You had to get frisked to get into the local mall! But even the security guards on the streets would always smile as you walked past and say "good evening sir". Truely classy people in such a rough environment. Very polite.
I really hope the phillipines can get it's act in order because my brief encounters with it's people have left me with a very good impression. |

they cancel the photo page and clip the corner making it void. But you still get to keep it. |

Well I'm really glad that you had a great experience there. It's always nice to have nice security guards, b/c although you have to get frisked and stuff to go into the mall, it doesn't seem as bad when the guards are trying to be extra friendly.
I've always wanted to go to the Philipines and my mom promised she'd take me, so I hope it happens! It's a beautiful country...from the pictures I've seen. I really hope they can get their act together though like you said. It's too bad that it's a fairly poor country. My mom was telling me this morning that there are some pretty wealthy people that live there...when she grew up there she had a maid, a chauffer, a woman that made her clothes and such...but then there are other people that are living in those big cement sewer tunnel things (before they're put in the sewer - you see ppl skateboarding in them all the time), b/c they have no where to live :( |
