Major computer problem

Okay, this has happened at least 3 times now. I'll just be sitting here and the computer will completely freeze up. Symptoms include: the hard drive light staying on. No blinking, just steady and on. I bought a new fan for the processor, Pentium 4 3.06 GHz a while back and haven't had any problems, but now this problem has come out of nowhere.
Help? |

| Could be windows itself... if not it sure does sound like either a heating problem or RAM |
