Idea Hit Me So Hard I Had To Sit Down

got thinking tonight, perhaps we could divide the dj booth into 2 segments, "the bedroom" where beginning djs seek out help and advise & "the club" where seasoned pros congregate to network and share ideas

basically speaking, a place where n00bs can come find help and another place where people who have been in it for a bit can network and share promoting tactics and such

what do you guys think?

enough support i'm sure swamper would consider it

i thought this already was the noob section? ;)

That's a pretty bad idea. What are you going to do with a separate room full of newbs? If nobody knows anything to begin with, nothing will ever get answered. I think this section is perfect the way it is with dj's of all skill levels. In the way the pros can teach the newbs and once in a blue moon a newb can teach an old dog new tricks.

i thought about it, this forum could just stay as it is under the bedroom heading since alot of info is already here, then just start a new forum from scratch helping build on promoting and networking, building a global database of djs and info

ok its all great that your thinking but in this case it aint gonna work.
its a bit like shooting yourself in the foot if you change it.

And lock this forum to members who have a certain number of posts :happy2:
It will stop noobs being yelled at for asking questions when they dont even have a clue how to use online forums.
It would require the more intelligent TAs to make an effort to help those in need though.
It could work, but then the production forum would also deserve one...
Having 6 forums under the DJing / Production / Promotion heading may confuse some of noobs in the first place.
Definitly is a good thaught.

i've just had a really really blindlingly brilliant idea. Why don't people start reading the subjects before going into a thread, and decide if it's a topic they want to read and contribute to?
Mr.Mystery
What's the point, really? I'm sure everyone can see what kind of thread it is from the topic, there's absolutely no need to make gaps for the newbies and so-called "pros".

What's next - divide the Music Discussion forum so that newbies can discuss DJ Sammy and Ian Van Dahl in peace?

I actually like the idea, however the only thing i'd be worried about is the lack of posting. As it is the Dj Booth doesn't have a lot of new stuff popping up that often and i think splitting the dj booth would mean you'd only be getting a handful of posts a day.

I find myself checking back on tranceaddict multiple times a day but find it lacks in new material quite a lot. Just my 2 cents..

in a perfect world this would work, but then no-ones gonna ask any questions in the noob section cause they want experienced answers, not noob answers, regardless of their level of experience, good idea though :)

People (experienced people) who have patience and are willing to help will answer their questions. Those who get easily pissed off and aren't as patient are the ones who wont have to look at those noob questions anymore. Unless they have the sudden urge to help a few lads/lasses out.

That's how i would have seen it work anyway.
