| My fav is definitely Italy as they are in top form and Totti played a friendly last wk so he'll be ready for the world cup, I still don't understand Lippi's obsession with Vieri, right now Pippo is in better shape and scoring more, even more than Gilardino. The players that im looking foward to watch, well 2 of them: Teves and Messi from argentina, specially Teves, he's a beast...also rooney from england but i just read he got injured Vs Chelsea today, left the stadium in crutches, hope he's ok. And of course Ronaldino, saw vs Milan in the champions league and the guy is magikal, crazy accurate passes, the thought of Brazil playing with ronaldo, ronaldino, kaka, robhino/adriano can scare any defense. I've seen Dida make some terrific saves and some horrible moves, there is no middle point with him, is either great or shi%#. The best match of the first round has to be Argentina Vs Netherlands, my surprise team would be Ukraine with SHEVCHENKO, and portugal with a vey good coach, scolari, who knows how to be a champion. It would be cool if we see a first time world champion this year. |

Um Pippo your nuts. Lippi's obsession with Vieri is not stupid. Vieri is a proven scorer in a top competition. But you need to realize that he will be the 5th striker. The starters are Toni/Gila/Del Peiro/Cassano. Vieri is just a person to come off the bench. Totti will be back he has played for Roma's youth team and will play their finale Serie A Match most likely.

sorry, Cassano is not playing in Real Madrid at all, in a recent interview Lippi himself said that is hard to take someone who is not playing. Vieri is a proven scorer, this is true but so is Pippo, my argument is that Pippo is in shape unlike Vieri who is injured and "should" be ready for the WC. But yeah, the starters will be toni, gilardino and totti which is perfectly fine with me. Is funny though how Gilardino is the first choice in the national team but not in his club, inzagui took over his place at AC Milan. BTW, if Brasil and Italy beat who they ARE SUPPOSED to beat, the will meet at the semi-final. |

no sherlock. Pippo is not better than Tavano, Iaquinta, Marchionni who is a midfielder too, and even Lucarelli.
Totti is not a striker he is a midfielder so dont put him with Toni & Gila. What makes you such a Inzaghi fan? He is not that great on the international stage. If they call him up it would be disaster. And lets not look at the semi's yet your not an Italy fan if your looking at possible matchups there.
Everyone knew that about Vieri when he got injured at Monaco. He most likely will be fit but not in match form for the WC |
