You get a nice setup of *nix going, and watch it fly.
Being a *nix lover myself, I love osx (based on freebsd i believe). Program s itself, no big deal. Don't reboot, drop to a shell:
"kill -9 " ftw!
If you don't know about that command, type "man man" at the unix shell and work your way from there ;)

How is this different from me hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del, selecting the hanging process, and ending it in XP?
And I agree, Linux is good for servers, but that's about it. The Linux geeks who insist it's better for desktops too are tools. |

My opinion of Linux based on destkop distro's. Kubuntu and Xandros, specifically. DOn't get me wrong they have some great features and I'll continue using xandros to burn dvd's and cd's, but outside of that I find it useless. |

What? You're wrong. Apple went with Intel because their processors outperform all the IBM/Motorola chips. And uh, Intel has been the biggest player in the CPU market since the dawn of time |

I own a pile of Apple stock for greedy purposes and from what I've seen they are a smart company and have excellent products.
But I don't yet own a Mac or even an iPod. My Dell PC (for surfing, video editting etc) and Toshiba laptop (for music/Traktor) work great. |

WRONG
Intel teamed up with apple b/c they are losing in the PC world. AMD is crushing them and now they gotta resort to another market so they won;t lose to AMD.

i think its more about Apple wanting to switch to the superior performance x86 CPUs... then they chose who would be the best for them AMD or Intel. |
