a music discussion sticky

please post your vote in the thread so that we can have the option to only count votes from resident PDD'ers (considering it will mostly be for our own use).
and in the spirit of our little PDD, please include reasons for either why is the existence of such a thread justified here, or why it isn't.
another point of discussion here could be: how will our sticky differ from the already existing music discussion forum?
:)
p.s. you can vote both options if you are up for the idea, but have some reservations, etc. |

| a question which is important to me is, Do we share music tastes? and if not, are we open minded enough to listen to each other's reccomendations regardless? |

Why we should have one: Many in the PDD don't have the time or effort to look up new tunes or check out the MD, so a thread with only the best parts of the MD might be a way for busy ppl to keep up with the scene (including myself).
Why we shouldn't have one: I don't know how many ppl could actually contribute to one, and I guess links would be "illegal" according to TA rules so we couldn't really share the songs anyway...
About music taste, I like trying a lot of new things, but I guess if you recomend something you could describe what it is first ;) |

I think we're most of us are open-minded enough to listen to recommendations about genres we don't like, and I sure think my tastes are quite different from what you'd expect from a TA (I ditched uplifting trance and instead of embracing prog, I chose hardcore punk and drum'n'bass :D).
Maybe if we keep discussion to a minimum and we make a sticky about where we would post our favourites every once in a while: that way, it would be a summary of what's going on - we have too much reading to do, and this would certainly be more useful than endless threads with too many rants and few recommendations.
I eye aye! |

| I voted yes because, I love to see other peoples opinion on music. Alot of posters here, of course are trance lovers, or if not, EDM lovers in general. My favorite threads on the MD section are the whats your favorite track..in those lines. It will be good to see the members of this section of the forum discuss about the music..and get away from politics for a bit. So yeah, I'm all for it. |

He's left it open to political nuance, mon frere (that's French for "my brother"). Is it so unreasonable to think that some people might believe in something and not believe in something at the same time? Is that too difficult to represent in a dichotomic (that's not a word, I looked it up on dictionary.com) poll of sorts?
Bring on the music thread. I have things to say.
EDIT: Important things to say. ;) |

It would be interesting to see the music preferences in comparison to the political opinions.
I personally don't care, though, as I go to 4-5 other forums on this site. |
