161 will work out well for a all around board

i good rule of thumb is when you stand the board up on end it should go all the way between the middle of your neck and your nose although generally between chin and nose is prime. hopefully you have small feet. i've been cursed with having to accept the limited abilities of a wide board due to having huge feet

NYTA had a BUNCH of trips lol you just missed out lol!!!!

Frost, Miss Bliss, Trunks, MCB, Taub, LunaSea, a bunch of us went one weekend and basically tore up the whole mountain!!!

I think this season will be a bit different though, Frost might be hooked up at MT Hood in Washington State so we might be making a few trips out west since he has a place to stay out there.

And I think this year we will make a few VT trips since our group is a decent size.

I'll do my yearly trip out west with some other friends (last year was Park City, Utah) I think our next location is Lake Tahoe or out in Cali with Butterfly (melissa). =)

Well I have an acorn dick so naturally I have small feet. :D

Kid, when I used to snowboard back in the day, which was a wednesday actually, I spent a few weeks for two summers up at Mount Hood. Of course, you don't get any great powder to plow through, but it was a really cool experience boarding around with a light long sleeve. I can't freakin wait to get back into snowboarding. Perhaps we should start a snowboarding thread?

What's a snowbaord? :p

So to revive this thread after I have done some research...

I am leaning more towards the Never Summer Premier or T5, which I know are basically the same board. I have size 11 feet, once again Im 6'1" 180 and am looking for a freeride board. Im stuck deciding between a 161 and a 163, however. I would prefer control over speed, so I am leaning towards the 161 as of right now.

never summer and compatriot make decent boards. k2, santa cruz, forum, and gnu all make really mid to high end boards...just make sure you don't go smaller than 161 and bigger than 165, i think 161 is a perfect size for you

ride snowboards released their 07 line so you might want to check it out if your interested in the newer stuff. don't forget to check ebay, they usually have some great deals

Seasonally NYTA has a snowboard thread. You should check out the thread once it starts, usually around the buying season - sept-october. Some get out to the mountains as early as november (I know I will). You can check there for pictures of your fellow TA's ripping down mountains of snow =)

i have a friend that has really big feet, like a size 12, so he needs a really wide board. any suggestions for board companies that make extra wide ones?
