The DJ's/Music

Holy what an awsome night! IMO all 3 DJ's were on point!
Hai Lee: ON POINT! Serge: ON POINT! Tiesto: ON POINT!

I arrived closer to the end of Hai Lee's set and it was some really hot trance. Great energy in his set and great energy from the crowd. Everyone was really into it. That must have been quite the high for him. He played some hot tracks that I've never heard before as well. I'd definately like to hear him spin again soon.

Walked into the main room and was greated with the sounds of Serge spinning some really really nice prog. Track after track, lots of bass thumping beats. I'll be sure to make it out to his next solo event. There were a lot of his tracks that I want ID'd. He really kept that proper until Tiesto came out at about 1:30.

Tiesto's set was wow ====> :eyespop: HARD HARD HARD HARD HIGH ENERGY! For the most part it was bangin' track after bangin' track, a lot of which I had never heard before which was good. Towards the middle of his set particularly it really REALLY picked up and it was just nuts! Not to sound cliche but the energy of his set + the energy of the crowd was euphoric. He banged it out straight through to the end. I thought only about 10 - 15% of his set consisted of the hits that we all hear over and over at every DJ's show which usually bores me  . But in this case I definately took those as blessings because it took a lot of energy to survive in that crowd. It was good to have some points where I could rest and still hear some nice tracks even though I've already heard them 30 times in the club.

I left at around 6:30 as Serge began his closing set which was sounding quite nice. He was spinning Filo & Peri's 'Ordinary Moment' as I was leaving. I hadn't slept in 2 days before going to this though or else I might have stayed longer. I have to say that a lot of TA's are troppers when it comes to staying out for such long hours. Did anyone do the 9am afterhours thing? Well, I enjoyed the music a lot last night. That was easily one of the best shows I've been to.

The Crowd

First off there were billions of beautiful women out last night. And I'm not talkin' 'Strobe Light Beauties' either.

There were enough muscle bound italians there to form a small army. In fact, a lot of them were bigger than the security gaurds. I remember seeing these super soldiers upstairs doing some kind of drug and they were caught by security. Instead of being thrown out, one of them puts his arm around the security gaurd, walks him in another direction and says something like "You didn't see nothin'." That happened on several occasions. Each security gaurd that caught them was kindly escorted away by whomever was the largest. Not even the biggest security gaurds messed w/the italians. There were just too many of them, and besides, a lot of the security gaurds were bugging out to the music with everyone else.

In any case it was different last night. Most people were really polite. Everyone who normally contributes to there being a bad crowd was instead, really cool last night. People were on their best behavior for the most part :p . People were friendly towards each other and even the coked up asians didn't seem as coked up as usual. To my knowledge there were no fights, and since it was 21+ no one was carted away in an ambulance or on a stretcher. Everyone's energy seemed pretty in sync.

Last night was one of the first nights in a while that I went out without any other friends with me and I ended up meeting lots of people; TA's and otherwise. ' ran into Hai Lee and Big Mike. Met Sveta, Thero40, and about 7 or 8 other people, at least 3 of which were TA's. I thought I heard their SN's right but I didn't so please ID yourselves if you read this. Nonetheless, everyone was cool. I really had a great time.

Serge and Kai were around as well, mainly on the 2nd floor. I had to push past them to get where I was going. Didn't think to take a picture or anything, and it was too crowded anyway.

Random

Tiesto is a LOT bigger in person than I thought he was. He had 6 or 7 BIG/TALL ass security gaurds escort him through the crowd onto the stage and he was still taller than all of them.

At one point some guy asked me to call over some random asian kid who was passing by us so they could talk for a sec. I later found out that 'some guy' was a TA and 'some random asian kid' was Kai, who had his bangin' ass girlfriend with him.

They really did fix Crobar's lighting. It's infinately better than it was before. I felt that they finally properly adjusted the sound system as well. The music didn't hurt my ears at all and aren't rining like they usually would, for at least 24 hours after a show like this.

Pretty much everything that everyone said that would suck about Tiesto's set was non-existant. was bangin' as ever! I'm so glad I went to this after skipping out on his last show. Hai Lee and Serge really delivered a 1-2 punch and Tiesto's set was a T.K.O. (x_x). Wish I could see all 3 DJ's in the same night again. It was worth every dollar.

There was only 1 aspect of the night that bothered me...

As far as dancing goes, you couldn't really do much more than 2 Step until about 4am or so, and even then it was still quite packed. Definately all worth it though. Wish I could go back. I hope the summer proves to bring nights that are just as awsome :)

... oh yeah, pics and videos up later.

not much to add except a concurence of opinion regarding two quality nights by tijs and the sweatbox-like conditions of an overpacked club -- glad to see tiesto back in form. :)

I've gone to somewhere in-between 15-20 Tiesto shows, and this one had to be one of the best ones ever. This was a dream come true to any fan of trance music. Tons of amazing unreleased promos during the last 2 hours.

What a great night. And i didn't even want to go!!!!I was so tired from the previous night and crazy week in the office. Thanks H. for pictures and stories that brought my desire back!!!! :toothless
We got to Crobar at midnight, went straight to a guy with a Guest list. Hahah This time they didn't even check my name, just gave us COMP tix and put VIP bracelets. Dance Floor was PACKED. Crazy. It's a moment when i hate people. So i locked myself in a VIP area and didn't leave it until the end of Tijs' set.
I had a good feeling about Tijs gig even before he start playing. When i saw that "In Search Of Sunrise 5" WMC curtain covering the whole wall behind the DJ booth i knew its going to be AWESOME. This night was WOW WOW. Well, H. I don't think it was better than at Mansion but indeed it was very similar to it.
Tijs was rocking like a star, being so TIESTO LOL. I loved it! He played for about 4.45 hours ( 1.30 am -6.15 am) :eyespop:
Great times!!!
It was nice to see familiar faces - Arty, DJ Skillz, AJ and his lovely GF, EnigmaT. Another big pleasant surprise was to meet my girlfriends from Paris who flew for one night to see Tijs.
:toocool:
Nice meeting you Blake!
Mischa!!! Nu ty dal zharu tozhe! He did play "Empty Streets", You thursday night request! Love this tune!
:tongue3
H&H - simply love you! I would marry both of you but unfortunately my heart belongs to another person ;)
Thanks to all, esp. thanks to Tijs crew, Am Only and guys from Crobar - always the best treat from you.

Did he play Leama and Moor- Everything matters? And now reading the reviews for Fridays show is bothering me. I took my brother on Thurs for his High School graduation present, and it cost the same amount of money, but he only played for 4 hours, and did not play alot of songs from ISOS 5, such as everything matters. He left the stage very abrubtly, and not even with a good closing track. Every time Tiesto comes to NY and i go to see him, he finds someway to not meet the full expectations that a former (and in the past, current) #1 DJ should. Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten should all be in front of Tiesto on that ridiculous DJ list.

And a lot of DJs should be ahead of all four of them. But it's not going to happen.
