That's right, the one and only MWTA in the "grand" state of Iowa [but still a CTA at heart] is graduating from Iowa State University today with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. Also on this fine , fantastic day I'll be commissioning as a Second Lieutenant into the United States Air Force.
After five long years of school, and four of those years in AFROTC, I'm ready to move on; take that next step; and experience what is going to be only the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
I'm going to be a Weather Officer in the USAF and I'm getting stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, LA. But before I go there, I'm going to Air Space and Basic Course [ASBC] in Montgomery, AL for a 7 week leadership course. I leave for that on 04 June and then leave for Shreveport on 25 July.
I'm going to be back in Chicago one last time from 20 May - 30 May to see family, friends, graduation party, and of course to see G&D @ Vision :) [and of course, you too DJ Inphinity]
and then I'm coming back to Iowa to pack everything up and then step into the world of the Air Force.
I'll post pics of everything tomorrow most likely. I'm unbelievably excited and I'm surprised I got any sleep last night. I really have been waiting for this day for years now. and it's finally here, yay!!! |

I think a bachelor degree is it for me... maybe masters later but now I am just gonna sell cars. I started a car sales business with my Dad in 2003. It been doing alright so I think I am gonna stay in it. |

yeah, i'm putting off masters for at least 2-4 years. school has really kind of wiped me out and i'm ready to just work now.
altho, at the end of august i go to my weather tech-schooling that is from 9-4 each day, Mon-Fri, for 3 months.
so basically like my whole meteorology program all over again [altho w/out the dynamics....woo hoo!!] |
