we used to have quite a bit of these little DC/TA parties.djs from all over dc,maryland,VA and other places would come out for em.lots of fun especially when amit would host em. the last one went kinda sour when a bunch of djs were invited for a get together but the tables wound up being controlled by two djs for just about the entire night.i know a lot of people who brought gear and records were hot that night and since then theres been no real meetups.id definetly be into some more meetups!they are usually always a lot of fun!! if its in the dc md annapolis area id def be down for it!im even thinking of having one myself.i know ive talked to people here like limin li and some others and they said theyd be up for a meet. we'll all have to put our heads together and come up with something.

Yo,

I like the idea of thinking big..
Personnaly, I play progressive house with break beats.. I use Ableton on a PowerBook and what my rig at a gig is a laptop, a dj mixer, MOTU traveller and an m-audio 02 and trigger finger.

I have a gig tonight, Sunday May 7, at the Black Cat in DC. I am doing it with some others who use laptops on stage and its broked down to 30 minute sets. Reason why so short is the others are playing mostly their own mateial. My set is about 1 hour or so because its more of a "DJ Set " than productions of my own.

Realisticly, for the best turn out and convient for all you artist/DJ's, we should do it in NYC or in the Washington DC area. what do you think about that? There's Glow/FUR in DC, maybe a private party to the public.. and god knows how many venues in NYC.

I dig everyones thinking...

We should get a head count of people interested in the next few days and what music style;

1. Ross (me) - Progressive house and breaks

WirelessEyes, you should really post on iDC if you want to get something together locally, more local people on. Talk to Peter about it...

sounds good as for the equiptment what we did in Manchester is the 4 of us all brought all own stuff for the setup. So we could have some one bring the CDJ's, one person for the decks...etc

summer would be perfect because more opportunites for people to come to small shows like ours would most likely be. The only problem for me is that I will be away all summer but also planning something for the summer may make things a bit rushed too.
