KK I want a little bit of info on our good friends over at 514...

1) Was 514 responsible for SONA? If no, who was running/backing it?

2) The events like FREAKY, CONNECTED, OASIS, CREAM, FORZA... where did these disappear to? I know there was a 2004 CREAM... but what about the others? Did these parties work? Did they not get enough people? What happened?

3) When did 514 appear in the city? Have they already shined and burnt out (ie: scraped a few crappy parties, kept a few) or are they just getting ready to restart OASIS/FORZA/FREAKY?

4) People who've been to FREAKY/FORZA/OASIS what are they like? Packed? Empty? Good? Bad? What were the themes of these parties?

/me looks in Kendo's direction...

:P

Thanks guys. :)

(edit: Some of these parties have some pretty stellar line-ups. Max Graham, Tiga, Digweed, Deep Dish, Oakenfold a la 2000, etc.)

Google is your friend...There are tons of informative articles online to answer your question...514 is now done...all they do is liquidate the trademark names to the massives now.

The storm that happened between the boyz from 514 and Biggy should keep you entertained...

Google...you will be busy for hours.

The massives were fun and well attended, although you cant really compare them to today, since Dj's werent as overpaid and the scene was very different back then.

Connected was an amazing concept that i would love to see recreated.

Also Google Ray Jr as he organized alot of events to in this town at that time.

I can't seem to find anything sufficient on Ray Jr or anything close to informative on 514...

Anyone wanna do a quick write-up for Marrrkkessss?

(edit: I know the SWIRL 2005 story but I want to go a little further back...)
all-nite-freak
keep looking man...impossible to do a quick write up on this subject as you could write a book and still leave out info.(hmmmm *lightbulb flashes*)

I could be wrong, but i think 514's first event was Swirl in 96.
If you are really that interested google all the events and do your research.Of course it will take hours, but it really cant be broken down in a few sentences.

also if you go to rave.ca and search the site i believe they might have a few old flyers and reviews.

Why did the CONNECTED event die?
Piano4444
I am not sure why it died.

But 514 has been dying a slow death. Every year it seems to drop something.
Marcus007
So it is on it's way down... :(

Was it a partner in Celebration or did it just license the rights to that party over to Godskitchen?
all-nite-freak
nice...its sad that you are posting some old aria flyers like that because it makes you wish for the return of the glory days. The sander/porter night was sick.No one knew who Porter was back then, and i remember him laying down a totally sick set.Nothing like how he spins today.

Let the past die, because reminiscing about it is just too damn depressing.:p
