Im getting really annoyed with school and all the requirements for applying for medical school. For one, Im not one of those straight A students so it puts alot of pressure on me to do well. If they only looked at GPA, than I definitely wouldnt be getting into medical school, but my goal is to learn and understand as much as I can without it leaving my head and acing the MCAT.
Worst case scenario, Ill get my RN license, work for several years, make some money, start my life and eventually Ill reapply for medical school again. |

hear's a fact,
many CEOs and those people way up there in myriad companies studied engineering for college, and did MBA when they went into a company. since companies like to pay potentially brilliant people from the science section for MBA, i guess if your goal is to be successful, you're taking the most direct route towards it. |
True, very true...
But it just so sounds like the same old BS doesn't it??
But well, thats what my plan is as of now. I haven't enjoyed my engineering as much as I would liked to though... |

i'm getting a bachelors in advertising at an art school that is designed for people who want to get a degree fast. it's mostly rich artsy kids doing graphic design, photography, or fashion design, but there's a lot of working adults in my classes too (i go to the art institute by the way).
my real career passions in life are ones that are nearly impossible to do. i would love to be a movie director/screenplay writer, but we all know how hard it is to move up in the hollywood world (or even enter it for that matter). i also have a passion for fashion (haha) and i would love to start my own clothing line. i dont really know how to design clothes, but i just mean like the whole business aspect of running a clothing line. like the name, starting up the company, etc...i guess that's kind of weird, but it's still very appealing to me...just owning a big clothing line. that would be sweet:)
i figured going into advertising was safe for me since i'm creative and love TV commercials and magazine ads and photography. i think i'd make a great art director for some big magazine or something. depending on how wiped out i am when i get my bachelors, i just might continue on at my school and go for a masters in film. that would be cool, but expensive, so we'll see. and i also didn't start college until i was 22, so i don't really have a lot of time. i'm 24 and i'm very eager to get my degree fast and start working in a career that i love and can make lots of money in. but no matter what i do in life, i will not settle for some career that i don't have a passion for. i need to be happy in my work and what i do. you gotta love what you do, it really helps you become a solid, happy individual.
oh yea...i would also love to be a music video director. i might be able to pull that off with a BS in advertising and a masters in film. i'd have to go work for MTV at some point though:wtf:

You got it, i'd rather be happy and poor than rich and miserable, although you could probably buy some cool to make it less numbing. |

i could never be poor. don't get me wrong, i meant what i said about loving what you do, but i would have a hard time doing something that makes me little money without having something else on the side. i would have other investments going like real estate or whatever. money makes the world go round, sad but true. especially if you want to have kids and all that. i need to be very financially comfortable in life. i want to be able to send my kids to a nice school, have a nice house and a nice car, be able to travel with my kids and go on vacations, etc... it's just important to me.
there's too much to do in this world and we only live once, and unfortunately, it all costs money. |

I'm comfortable as well, i'm in debt but i've got a lot of shares in a few succesful companies so i could clear it off and stuff, but right now i can deal with being poor.
Roll your own cigarettes rather than buying them all nicely done for you, eat your girlfriends food, budget. I travelled across Canada on 1 dollar 60 a day for a month, it was ing brilliant. |

This is where the whole problem sets in. Drawing the line between what you want to do and what you should be doing...
And yea money does make the world go round...that SOB |

Beg, Borrow and steal...
Nah not really, i basically walked around in a kilt with a couple of friends (seen here)
and we got talking to people, met the Mayor of Nova Scotia, got on radio,T.V, We ate soup and bread and fresh fruit and occasionally someone cooked for us. Somebody gave us honey and jam one day, We went from Nova Scotia to the Niagra falls then onto Toronto , It was the best experience of my life. We walked on average about 26 or 27 miles a day. We were gifted some food and other days we went without and we slept in a tent in peoples gardens or in the forest.
Toronto is an amazing City. I would do it all again in an instant, walking about in a kilt for miles and miles does give you really itchy balls though, and my feet were killing me... |
