Hello everyone!

This is to all newbie´s, and for everyone else offcourse :P. I know how it is to sit hour after hour, trying to get that "phat" supersaw, airwave kinda pads. So to get u started i thought i would share something to get u started and maybe an "aha" experience.

So, in this tutorial i have posted a sample on how it could sound HERE
and insted of writing it down, i have posted pictures of the settings, cus my english isnt that good.

Hope this will help u i some way, enjoy!

sounds very good :) I'll definitely attempt that myself.

This is probably a stupid question, and I havn't had time to try this "patch" yet, but why is the oscillator 1 detuned?

As you can see, osc 2 & 3 are also detuned. If you don't detune the osc's you wouldn't be able to get that supersaw-pad that your after. Since the waveform supersaw consists of various detuned saw-waveforms put together. It creates that phat sound. :clown:

BTW, that patch sounds awesome dude! I have a JP-8000 myself and I must say I'm impressed! :) (I haven't tried the patch yet myslef, but I judge by your mp3-sample atm, will try it when I get home for sure!)

EDIT: I've tried the patch now and it sounds very good!

I was wondering the same thing. That kinda messes up the tuning of the instrument.
Although theres a lot of unison on it so it might be masked by that.. :)

[to dj_kane:]
I used a blank patch. :)

The reason i detuned all three osc, i cus i just used one synth, and it sound more "full" i u know what i mean, but there isnt any rules about it. I just did this patch for u to get started, and from there u can do what ever u think sounds good ;)

[to Alpha Dave] You are right :) and thank u for comment, im glad u liked it.

And if u are wondering, i didnt use ANY external fx or anything else. :)

Sounds good but I wouldn't use noise in a pad.

As i said, You can do what u think sound the best. i used a little noise to get more edge and air.

Even though it's not a supersaw (I'm a JP8000-owner, so I would know), it's a really good pad! :)
One thing that bothers me is a subtle click I hear when the filter cutoff is under 50%.
Tip: Try adding a LFO on the cutoff. Just sublte. Might make it sound better during those looong chords.
