where's your happy place?

when you encounter something negative or painful, do you have a "happy place" that you think about to make yourself calm and relaxed?
i remember doing it all the time as a kid, and i would usually think of the most random things... but i find that even now as an adult, it helps me a lot. specifically, when i have to get blood taken, like just earlier this afternoon. i get light-headed and pass out sooo easy at the thought/sight/feel of needles, and i always have to lay down, so having something positive to think about is pretty important to me.
sometimes i'll try to think of something beforehand if i'm really nervous, but today it was just completely random... as i was laying there and the nurse started poking my arm with the needle, i shut my eyes real tight and the first thing that popped into my mind was sitting on the balcony of our hotel room in Miami during WMC... listening to Airdrawndagger and the Zabiela & Fanciulli WMC promo mix, watching the clouds go by as the sun started rising, feeling the hot Miami breeze, holding Rob's hand, looking out over the city, watching the people in rowboats, chugging Gatorade from a big bottle, random cracked out conversations...
and i didn't pass out! :D |

The underground of my university... that's where I like to go. The machines, the shadows, the walls that have never been painted... I'm going to post some pictures:
edit:

It looks better at night... here's my favourite picture:

its a small little corner of the beach, at the end of a long bike path. its got huge rocks and an amazing view overlooking lake ontario.
I like to bike down there and just sit on the rocks, listen to music and let the breeze carry my troubles away :p |

My dad's parents live on about 80 acres in a rural area. My cousin and I used to walk down to this huge rock by the lake and play for hours. I haven't sat down on that rock in years. But now the rock is smaller and life is bigger, more hectic, and more complex. Go figure.
Barring disaster, I will own that property one day. So many good memories there. |

i mean... places that you go are cool too, but i was specifically wondering what you guys think about when you need to focus on something positive.
it doesn't always have to be a literal place either... thinking about bukkake and ice cream makes me happy. :gsmile: |

But that's the place I like to go when I need to be alone, meditate, think positive,... :p |

| Oh, well in that case I just try to think, "This shiat will be over soon." The impermanence of everything in life and all that jazz. |

As a kid I used to imagine myself in Duckburg chillin with Donald and the gang. Nothing bad would happen there.
These days I don't have a happy place. |
