I haven't read Davinci Code but I did read Angels & Demons and i found it to be quite intriguing. Most people say it is better than the davinci code so i guess i'll have to see for myself. I read digital fortress as well i thought it was quite entertaining not as good as Angels and Demons though. About some christians protesting or starving themselves i don't necesarily agree with that. I am a christian and i take books like davinci code for what they are FICTION thats it and there are more important things to worry about in life then some stupid book. The part that is disturbing though is people that aren't smart enough to distinguish between fact and fiction and then get all confused with the whole Jesus had a relationship with mary and all that crap so thats the only negative about books like this.

funnier/more ed up than crazy catholics starving themselves over a book?

crazy catholics holding huge protests and disrupting funerals for soldiers who died in iraq...because they believe that the soldiers' deaths are god's vengance for the united states' tolerance of homosexuality
:wtf:
no, i don't have a source
heard it on npr a few nights back

did you see that hannity and colmes where that lady was defending her churches actions (of about 100 people, 90% being of family) of disrupting funerals of soldiers, having parades of homophobia and praising 9/11?
Hannity and Colmes sure ripped her one big new . it was worse than Bill O'rielly's "SHUT UP" to that 9/11 family victim, except she totally deserved it.

knobs.

The churchs should actually be jumping on the popularity of Da Vinci Code to try to boost their congregations, not vice versa.

Since I havent seen the da vinci code, what about it is getting ppl mad?
nfekted
well, the Da Vinci Code was a great read that's for sure. I know some of the things Brown wrote aren't true. But, I've gotten so into this now lol. I'm going to read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" now.

So Angels and Demons is better then?? Guess i'll have to pick that up too.:)

The Da Vinci Code is clearly written in a style that appeals to the masses. And it did a very successful job at that. Problem is, most readers with a more refined (for the lack of a better word) taste will be left unsatisfied by it. They'll probably choose to steer clear of Brown's books after having read the Da Vinci Code (and/or his other works). I for one did.

It's really a bit like McDonalds (but I think I've said that before). Created to serve the masses in a quickly digestible manner.
