LIAR I see you're frommer's guide to NYC under ur desk! stop cheating lol i need real life experiences since this thread has been linked to the NYC Visitor's thread. Anything you've posted is an advocation of experience thus recommending it so I'm gonna head over to Xavier right now, better be there or.....yea i dunno i was on a roll but i gave up...anyways
|
lol - i'm about 200 miles north of nyc right now and i don't own any "touristy" guide books; if i would recommend any such book it would be: "Manhattan: A Block by Block Atlas" by John Tauranac - the dude did an incredible job (native ny-ers would appreciate it more than any tourist). everything i recommend is from experience (xavier sucks btw lol; i knew a buddy who graduated there years ago and hated it).
=)

although i'm licensed, i've never guided for money; i've given plenty of walking tours to family, friends and out of town guests though. (i got the license on a bet ;) )
btw, i chuck pennies at the tourists on the buses =) |

Dave & Buster's
Times Square 42nd Street between 8th and 9th Ave. It's an arcade/bar/food place. I've never been there myself but I hear it's a nice place. Maybe go there to bum around while waiting to see a movie at the theaters right next to it. |

SUSHI anyone? BIG SLABS OF RAW FISH - go here for your sushi fix, you'll be happy you did, but don't be mad at me if your bill is unexpected...just a warning! |
Went there last night AGAIN. Yes, the sashimi meat literally pours out of the rolls...my friend and I got 2 sashimi deluxes - yes, BIG SLABS OF RAW FISH, 4 rolls, 2 miso soups, 1 wasabi shumai ... rounded off, the bill came out to $100.
WORTH IT!:happy2: |
