Weekend @ 4th&B Review: PVD > Tiesto

Tiesto is the rock star. PVD is the entertainer.

Man did PVD bring it last night. I freaking loved it! Paul showed San Diego how it's suppose to be done.

I caught a lot of the early part of the show from upstairs. You can really see the crowd reation to the set and it was a non stop pogo. Went into the crowd and discovered how high I could jump too. I couldn't help myself.

I had to leave before the end of the set (3:30) so I didn't get to see the finish. (ug). Please tell me it didn't get any better. Not sure it could have.

Paul stayed right at the decks all night and looked like he was really enjoying himself. Tiesto on the other hand was all over the stage, not sure why? As if he was having technical problems. But it seemed to me Tiesto wasn't doing a lot of mixing, more like just playing one tune after another. Whatever Paul was pointing and clicking at it was solid.

Really liked the new stage setup. The camera on Paul was a terrific effect. But where were the dancers all weekend?

Gotta go and boil my shirt from last night to get the sweat and spilled drinks out of it. I am beat.

I saw Paul last night too, missed the Tiesto. Paul was insaaaaaaaaane. He was dropping some harder techno beats pretty much the majority of the night up until about the last hour or so. Then he started dropping a few classics like Nothing But You and For an Angel.

It was pretty sick, can't imagine Tiesto topping it the night before. Do have a few video clips I want to post... anyone get a recording of that set?

Tiesto was about 10 times better the night before. The crowd was way more in tune with him and you could feel the electricity in the air.

HHahaha - yeah is is ING amazing... I have seen several reviews like this over the past year. People seeing PVD and Tiesto over the same weekend, 95% of them conclude that Tiesto doesnt compare to PVDs sets. The energy that PVDs music produces is amazing, and it will keep anyone dancing until sunrise.

I still have not seeing Tiesto live, so I have no room to judge. Memorial day weekend I will be seeing Tiesto, but I really cant imagine a performance better then PVD...

I feel sorry for you guys, cause if you thought the PvD show at 4th and B was amazing, you have absolutely no idea.... When PvD was here in LA This February at Vanguard, he was completely differnt and way better, harder, deeper and over all people were having more fun.

I really hope you guys get to experience that kind of vibe. Not to mention the girls that were at Tiesto were about 10 times hotter. Check the pictures.

No need to feel sorry for me.

Were you at the same show? Maybe you were sleep deprived?

I will agree the girls were hotter at Tiesto, and it being a Giant/Polka Dot/Realivze show the night was better run than Saturday. Other than that there was no comparison to me. One of the draws of a Tiesto show is the pre-hype vibe but that can only go so far. After the dj starts the sexiness of the crowd goes wayside. If my priority was to see hot girls and music I would have went to Pacers. It's all about the music and to me PVD clearly is heads above Tiesto.

I wasn't at the Vanguard show but I too have seen both Tiesto and PVD numerous times in the past so I have some point of reference. PVD was exactly what I paid to see. More so. Tiesto's performance came up short.

I have to admit I have never left a Tiesto show completely satisfied and I have never left a PVD show not fully satisfied. This last weekend was no exception.

I have seen PVD four times, and I have always left his set wanting more. Everytime I see him, I think I know what to expect from him, but he ends up blowing my mind over and over again. When I saw him at 1015 last Friday, he was unreal.

I hear constantly from Tiesto reviews that he basically changes tracks on a cd player. I read a review of the Tiesto - PVD show at Cream in Ibiza... where Tiesto spun from 1-4 and PVD from 4-close. People were energized just to see Tiesto, but PVD actually brought the energy through his music. The reviews stated that they completed forgot about Tiesto's set once PVD hit the decks.

I am trying to keep myself from getting hyped about seeing Tiesto next weekend. I know I will be dissappointed if I have the anticipation I get before PVD. I just saw PVD spin the best set I have ever seen last Friday, so I think I will have very high standards.

PS: I come to see a DJ that brings me high through their music... I dont need a in Barnum & Bailey CIRCUS act going on behind the DJ booth.

PVD is really bringing his all to the EDM world. His record label VANDIT has unbelievable DJs/producers. Kuffdam & Plant are unreal. Their unreleased song 'The Ones We Love' is awesome, and Summer Dream is just a killer track too. PVD started a internet radio station called Vonyc.com which has tons of guest DJs and recently released tracks. Overall, I think PVD is doing TONS of work for the EDM world, and he definately puts his heart into it. I can just picture Tiesto at home looking in the mirror saying out loud "I am Tiesto.. I am Tiesto" -

This is only speculation, but next weekend I am sure I will conclude "PVD > Tiesto" like the rest of you.
