Not so long ago, everybody was wanking over this synth and now I see the 'for sale' thread coming faster than I can tell... What happened?
I never thought of selling my 200 Pro-53 for instance :) |

He is actually selling it to get the desktop version, not because he is not satisfied with the TI. I only know this from a thread in another forum :

You can use all 16 MIDI channels and all audio outs, its just some people have problems with the VST. Alot of people don't have problems with the VST though, but you don't hear from them as only the people who have complaints go and complain on the forums(sadly, most of them don't even bring the issues to Access support, but just do it for the sake of bitching). |

I own a desktop and haven't really experienced any of the problems a lot of other people are having with the exception of the arps drifting out of sync from time to time. This is somewhat annoying, but unless you're doing live performances requiring arps you can easily work around it.
OS 1.1 is apparently fixing that and a lot of other issues though, but we'll see. It should be out in a few weeks. As for the sound of this thing, :eyespop: It has completely revitalized my desire to make music. |

This happens on all Virus models and certain software configurations and conditions. My Virus B does this alot.
If you have a wordclock device you can set it to force MIDI clock and everything else in the MIDI chain plays along. Wordclock devices wont skip a beat and they dont start to mess up at high CPU loads like your computer does, because it doesnt have a CPU and its not loading anything. It is also unaffected by ASIO buffer overruns which totally screw my computer's ability to send MIDI clock properly. Thus causing the infamous 'Drunken Virus Syndrome.'
At the end of the day, even if you cant use the TI feature set at all, you still have a VC with bells and whistles on.
And heres the killer bonus - Balanced inputs and outputs and 24/96 recording. That alone is worth the difference in price over a VC if you are running a balanced rig. No ground loops. More headroom. Hotter signal. Less line noise. Priceless.
But as with most things computer music related - you dont 'need' this really. But you 'WANT' it baaaaad so you and me both will eventually get sucked into buying one and only have our own stupid asses to blame.
If you are a longtime Virus user or you have used hardware before though, recording via analog outs is a cinche. You just need to do things in a slightly different order and get used to it. |

Too bad music production has nothing to do with car racing. |
