I was working out leftovers from our families yard sale today and I found my D.A.R.E shirt. I don't know if they have this outside of San Diego/California, but its just a program done in elementary done by local law enforcement to ward kids of drugs and alchohol. I think its 6 weeks long and you get free pencils and bumper stickers and at the end of it all, you get a badge, shirt and a certification stating "(name) believes drug free is the way to be"
Just wondering if any of you guys had any funny experiences.
The only one i can remember was the situation where:
student: "what if someone asks you to do drugs?"
officer: "you simply say no. cold shoulder. say you need to go home. tell a teacher. do anything."
student: "What if they point a gun at you and tell you you need to do it?"
i don't remember laughing when i heard it. but looking back, i think its hilarious.
oh yes, and i'm drug free cus that's the way to be. |

I remember the DARE program, and yes, it's nation wide.
They made us think that drugs will make you suck dicks and homeless.

Yes I had the DARE t-shirt, frisbee, ruler, sticker and plastic cup. In fact I still have all those things. We were sticklers for free things back in the day. |

DARE for me was about 12-14 years ago. I consider that back in the day. Back when Full House, Step By Step, Boy meets world, and Dinosaur! was on TGIF.

ahhh good 'ol officer o'brian, my dare instructor. i remember one kid during dare. . .
officer: "what do you want to be when you grow up"
kid: "a drug dealer"
(*officer cuffs the kid*, makes and example of him, and lets him go ten minutes later.)

Anyone remember that anti-drug commercial:
Kid asks other kid: "hey, u wanna smoke some pot?"
Other kid says: "I don't know about that"
Kid says: "what are you a chicken?"
Other kid says: "no, i'm not...and you're a turkey!" and walks away
