| i always think about this when i travel to other cities. what music do you hear more often? when i walk into stores and stuff here in toronto i hear house music quite often. when i was in new york it was maybe 1 out of 10 shops. it also seems like every big club in the city is about house and not hip hop. am i the only one who notices this? why is hip hop so much more popular but it seems i hear house more often? take a trip to montreal though and its every store playing house. |

| yeah i know its more popular but i mean when do you see as many people at freedom at a hip hop club? just things like that. is it because of children buying every 50 cent cd on the shelf? |

in stores? if its not a radio station playing, house would probably be more popular, since it usually doesnt have swearing in it.
as far as clubs go, hip hop surpasses house music by far. thats why there are hundreds of top 40 clubs, but only a handful of clubs that play electronic music |

thats why half the lyrics are edited out on the radio. I always laugh when a hip hop song on the radio literally has every 2nd or 3rd word edited out to the point where you cant even tell what the guy was trying to say in the first place.
"i was ------ with -------- and -------- on the streets when ------- -------- " |

YEAH AND YA DON'T STOP, CAUSE ITS ONE EIGHT SEVEN ON A UNDERCOVER COP
Edits are hilarious. |

| If you notice on TV shows as well, a lot of the time it's house or some sort of electronic music that is playing rather than hip hop. Though there are shows that play hip hop. Movies as well. |

I don't know if I agree with this.
Even though Guvernment is probably the biggest club in the city, think about how many more hip hop and r and b clubs there are. Almost all of Richmond St. plays that type of music.
Also even guvernment has one hip hop night a week, its just that none of us ever go there. |
