| I love porsche's. Been my dream car since i was a kid and i got to take a brand new 911 twin turbo for a spin last summer with a friend. After tearing up the streets in that for an hr. i was depressed getting into my 140 hp car to drive home. |

IMHO it's a lot more fun (and cool) to drive a car with a standard transmission, not to mention you have much more control over the vehicle. Once you learn, you will never want to go back! Every time I drive an automatic my clutch foot tends to get all antsy. LOL.
I really think more women should learn to drive standard. My step-mom does, and im currently teaching my sister... It also really pays off if you want to drive in Europe as most cars are standard over there. |

Also, being able to drive stick makes a woman a bajillion times hotter.

Thats the exact car, same colour, fully loaded, 0km's
worth $110,000...$100,000 and you can drive it home. |
Congrats to your friend. He sure is lucky.
A Porsche never comes fully loaded. Each and every option on a Pcar is extra. Floormats are an exrtra charge too!! Carbon brakes alone are ~$11k.
Your friend would need to know exaclty what options the Cayman has. This information is essential for a potential Pcar buyer (as in most cases they already know what options they need / do not need). As a reference, a fully loaded Cayman S is upwards of $140k
I would suggest to go to a Pcar dealer here (only two in the GTA) and see what they are offering for that particular Cayman (sometimes this is the best bet as you get a cheque the same day and is hassle free). That should be the first step. He can take that price as a reference and see how the market currently is. If you would want me to get him in contact with someone, let me know.
Also, if the car is worth ~$110k, he should be looking for less than $100k for a quick sale. Very low mileage Caymans are going for ~$85k at the moment.
Another option is trade in the car, and buy a car which he can afford (operating cost wise)from the same dealership. He would save huge on sales tax and would take money back home (trade-in value minus value of car pruchased). |
