People of the world ... I'm here to educate you about the single biggest threat to our planet. You see, there is something out there which threatens our very existence and may be the end of the human race as we know it. I'm talking of course about... global warming. Global warming is very real, and it most certainly exists.
I'm cereal.
Global warming doesn't care who you are or what you've done. Global warming simply wants to get you!
I'm super-cereal.
But have no fear, because I am here to save you! And someday, when the world is rid of global warming, everyone will say "Thank you, Al Gore. You're super awesome." The end. |

im not basing my view on this because i like Al Gore.... im basing it on SCIENCE, LOGIC, AND FACT (that you would realize IF YOU SAW THE MOVIE, WHICH YOU DIDNT SO THERES NOTHING FOR YOU TO ARGUE ABOUT IN THIS THREAD).... he goes one by one proving (science) that the carbon dioxide levels are RIDICULOUSLY HIGH (off the charts of what the studies of the past 100,000 years shows, literally more than 100 times more CO2 levels than even the last Heat and Ice age had)... he shows LOGIC in saying "duhhhh" (like you like to say), what do u expect with such shotty regulations and cars (the US has the lowest mileage standards in the world, even compared to China, that we cant even SELL our cars elsewhere because they dont comply with the laws elsewhere... California tried to raise standards and are facing a court battle with car companies that say they wont be able to sell their cars there and its not fair)....
....you cant argue over a movie YOU HAVENT SEEN so you go see the movie and ill go digging through those 1000 OTHER studies you speak about |
funny how u jump from the "REICULOUSLY HIGH co2 levels" striaght to american policy regarding low mialege standards for cars...
i never said u did the reasearch what i was saying is that you have based your dicision on one argument |

| because to accept the OTHER argument (the one your are proposing) is to sit back and do nothing... while our earth falls apart... im no where close to being a treehugger or nature boy... but sometimes you just need to step back and realize that the WORLD has accepted this as truth and we havent... and the fact that we havent is dangerous since we contribute to more than 30% of the problems that are the root of this, enough to send the situation over the cliff, even if the rest of the world does something to stop it |

why is it so hard to believe that global warming exists?
probably the same reason why people didn't believe the holocaust actually happened and the same reason places like rwanda and liberia were ignored: media & propaganda |

you're making the assumption that our earth is falling apart... which i dont think is true
anyway... how about you come to my next gig so we can continue this discussion... that way i can say i brought more people in hahaha |

with the polar ice caps falling apart (this isnt speculation, this is truth), logic tells me that only the demise of the world as we know it will be the result |

i remember bein told two very convincing arguments by two different professors in school as to why global warming exists and why its a complete fabrication...
but something must be off considering average temps in the polar regions have been increasing steadily, affecting wildlife and vegetation thats normally bred for colder temps..glaciers are melting at an accelerated rate and supposedly could raise sea levels if it continues at the same pace...but even so we'd probably all be dead and gone before the earth was really screwed..
maybe by the time it becomes a problem we can just ditch this planet and find us a shiny new one..:stongue: |

hehe Ayn Rand objectivist.. I read an article about some guy who just opened a lounge/cafe based on his being a Rand objectivist... he wants to turn it into a bar at night but said that there will be no alcohol served "because when people drink they tend to get less objective." LOL |
