| dont u think global underground should have different genres. i think so. uplifting, breaks, pure techno, experimental like boards of canada or some . not just progressive. uplifting, breaks and others r underground music too. they should add a different flavour to them. tell me what ya think |

| Tiesto said he would never do a global underground.....ditto for paul van dyk.....just not there style. Global Underground is very popular with it's mainly progressive house/progressive trance tilt. I just don't see them doing something like that. |

| not specifically by them. someone should compile one with extreme talent so each electronic genre would be available on the cds. from progressive to breaks and so on. adds a new twist. i personally think it would be dope. |

Tiesto, Ferry, PVD, etc. shouldn't do a Global Underground simply because they represent too divergent musical paths. On one hand we have the uplifting, energetic sound of trance and on the other the sedate and quite frankly boring sound of progressive house.
That's just the way it is (In my humble opinion that is) |

Tiesto, Ferry, PvD, et cetera aren't underground enough for GU; they don't play unique enough tracks.
Just completely different styles and target audiences. |

nah, progressive isn't that boring as u think, just think of it as another alternative for electronica music. we can't be happy all the time ...(refering to uplifting, melodic trance). it's there for a reason, personally, i like it ..
about the djs going GU, nah. bad idea... |

No Way. These DJs cannot do a Global Underground. That is the reason I love Global Underground because it is different to PvD and Tiesto and all others like them. If yu make all the music the same it will get reapetitive and i may be being cynical but it would get boring.
I love PvD and Tiesto and Uplifting trance but I also love the more underground progressive style too and I don't believe that it should be made the same.
And what would be the point of PvD and them doind a "Global Underground when their style is not Underground at all. Figure that logic!!
They are two different styles and should be kept apart. |

| GU productions have traditionally been deep, progressively mellow. DJs like PvD and Tiesto can (and will never, I believe) accept a GU project. They're pure trancers. |

| When u buy GU cd, the choons are ones which u havent herd before.. When i went into a GU tent @ Creamfields i cudnt get in coz it was packed, so both genres are two different sides of coin :) |

How dare YOU say they don't have what it takes?! :whip: :whip: :whip: I too think it would be a bad idea for the mentioned djs to to do a GU, but not because they 'don't have what it takes'. I think it would be easily within their talent if they wanted to do so! From the tone of your post, it sounds like you don't like the more uplifting styles that Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto play. Which is fine. But that's no reason to try and take anything away from the DJ's talent! As much as I love some progressive tunes, I think Sasha, Digweed, James Holden etc play some absolute crap sometimes. Even so, I still appreciate that they are experimenting and trying new things. And that's what I think you need to do. You need to learn to appreciate other styles of trance, rather than implying that DJs from any other style than progressive are talentless.

tiesto has his "in search of sunrise" and "magik" series
ferry corsten has his "trance nation" series
armin releases his own cd's
so why do u really need them to do a GU? |
