Let me get this straight. A DJ is allowed to make some mistakes and still be considered the best? I disagree with this notion.
I thought to be the best, one had to be perfect in what he or she does. Making mistakes either means not enough practice or faulty equipment. Coming from a musical perspective, Yo-Yo Ma plays flawlessly at his concerts. Pavoratti doesn't screw up when he sings "o solo mio." When one is great, their craft becomes a part of them. It then becomes impossible to mess with. So, Tiesto is on his way to becoming the best if he can find a little more consistency. Afterall, we can't blame him for a bad sound system he shouldn't be playing on in the first place
 |
ok, first of all, NOBODY is perfect. second of all, what if everyone makes mistakes? somebody has to be the best of all the people who make mistakes and somebody has to be the worst, they all can't just be bad on the same level. besides, no one's saying tiesto's the best, he's just a very awesome dj and he can't be thrown down the trash just because he missed that couple of beats, duh. |

there is no doubt in my mind that tiesto is one of the greats. however, he is human, and does have his off nights. this is to be expected, cause he is a friggin workaholic!
and i have to say, ive seen him two times live. he was awesome both times. he ing blew pvd out of the water when i saw them on the same night. |

I don't really agree with this.
Lately he plays more progressive stuff in his mixes, but only in his long mixes.
like the set in la rocca and dutch dimension. Both 7 hours long. It's normal that you play some more progressive in the beginning. At the climax of this sets he still plays uplifting.
Before this sets most of us never heard more than 2 hours of tiesto in one mix. So its normal when he has to play at a rave for 90 minutes that he skips the uplifting part and immediately starts playing progressive.
In his essential mix he played more progressive becouse the scene in England is more progressive. |

about his bad day, that can happen to anybody.
Remember PVD at mayday 2001. And the fact that he was drunk is absolutely no excuse. |

| i really laugh when you guys say that tiesto spins progressive :clown: ya it is somewhat kind of progressive but really tiesto's progressive is total ...i really dont understand why he bothers playing it, we he really can't, so let the other dj's do that ;) if you spin uplifting then spin uplifting :) AVB sometimes puts some progressive tracks, but thats different, coz really those progressive tracks are good, not , as in putting a micheal jackson song in a set like tiesto did :stongue: im really dissappointed in tiesto, coz tiesto used to close to the best in 99, since late 2000 fame hit him and he just started losing it :sadgreen: i know half of this site is all about Tiesto and thats good :) enjoy him, maybe later on when you start to listen to other genders you'll realize that there is no one the best..but that's just my opinion :) either way, this thread starting off with some sense now its making to a point-less one... |

| Tiesot is still up there for me ...but hes not progressive what so ever ... hes still trance.... just not as uplifting that he used to be ..doesnt play the same cheeze all the time... he always changes which is a good thing ...... he could be more consistant when u listen to most epic djs dj.... they arnt the cleanest when it comes to skills.... so seeing tiesto trainwrek isnt that big of a issue i guess.. but it probably would kill the mood some what if i was there live or listening to the set... |

| DIE THREAD DIE~! Haha j/k. Well Tiesto is my favorite DJ and granted there are some mixes of his that don't really rank high in my book but we need to pay more attention to him on an overall level and his abilites as a DJ and producer. I saw him spin in NYC back in february and he rocked the club...I never saw the place that croded before... |
