Speactra - Alicante [Experimental house or something...]

Ok, I don't know where i got inspiration to create this. I have never heard anything like it, and I rarely listen to house.
But this was jumping out of my head and it was very fun making it :)
Everything is just made by experimenting, i.e the bassline:
I looped the last section of the kickdrum so it made a sinewave, turned a bit on the pitchwheel and added a gate, a cool bassline is born :D

I'm not sure about the end yet, i maybe extend the outro.

The name is from the city Alicante in Spain i visited earlier this year, i somehow think about it when listening :p

tight track... seriously... its very light and dreamy yet deep with that low kick... kind of pulsing

i picture a bunch of hot brazilian chicks grinding it out on the dancefloor

the only thing is that "synth stab" (dunno what to call it).... when it hits those really high notes... kind of hits a sour note or something

a very sexy track
Mr Rogers
wow, can u say crystal clear.
awsome bongo work, really nice hats.
bassline sounds a little muddy over here for some reason, maybe if the basslines freq could be merged closer to the kick, its like its to far away from it.
really groove'n track. really like how ur using a very unique style of putting the track together with its framework, keeps the listener entertained.
not crazy about that fluty thing...think its too loud.
u know what would sound awsome with that, filter the fluty things down with tons of reverb so it sounds like its coming out of a cave or something.
kick in after that break is awsome, smooth groove.
bassline sound'n better now for some reason..not sure why :)
whoa, flute thing way to loud though.
that would work great as a background sound as i mentioned before.
great track man, beat is amazing, really like it!
Speactra
Thanks myles, glad you like it ;)
and mr rogers :) What a review!!
I also noticed that the trumpet was too loud, I have lowered some levels now, added a deesser on the trumpet and eq'ed it some, hope it sounds better ;)

The bassline itself is very muddy, it clicks and buzzes a little, gonna try to fix that tonight.

I have also thought about adding a flute, gotta try it later :)

you comment as I listen.

Great intro i like how tweak the drums and percs.
but the base needs a lot of tweaking sounds to muddy.
Love your perc work , I dont know if this is house to be honest it woulda fitt in a cafe delmar compliation =) sounds kinda loungy. I find this track very relaxing, the break can be a bit modified the trumpet or what it is hits the wrong notes at the topp how evver great but I think you can have a litle more drive in it.

Good work not my cup of tea but still a good worl production wise.

Very special, I like the somethingwillhappensoon atmoshere. But I have to agree with Mavve about the trumpet, it sounds a bit wrong. Anyway, its an interesting track and I think the end is ok. Good job!

Thanks for the comments guys!

I have no idea about the genre, i just guessed on something housey. Have never listened to lounge either, so if anyone could confirm what genre this is i would be very thankful :)

Hmmm, the trumpet is almost perfect imo, i just want to make it sound brighter, and maybe fix the quantize a bit.. i dont think i'm gonna edit the notes of it though.

The bass is still left to be fixed, i'll maybe add some more silence to it with the gate effect, wich would get it less muddy and add some more drive...

Cheers!

yo man.

at last i got round to checkin this:)

indeed the sound is very clean and well balanced. interesting sounds. percs are nice and clean but maybe a little dry? not sure. trumpet is nice. i d like to here the trumpet with more of a long attack so its more synthy but has the sound of a trumpet.

these percs are nice!

and the sub is good. id like more volume on the sub.. but only a little.

also 1 last thing.... i seam to always suggest lowering or raising octaves of segments in tracks.. but i think the vocally synth that is present at the beginning would sound cool 1 octace lower..?

nice job mate:)
Subtle
listening:

the vocal sample thing in the beginning there i find a bit annoying.. Nice delay on that wooden sound!

the kick is very nice.. everything sounds nice and clean.. the trompet thing works nice..

i dont know what to call this, but it reminds me a bit of Shpongle and the new Holden sound..

Downloading, will post the review later on.

EDIT:
bidor
hey mate, reviewing as i listen...
wow this track is so clear its like a live band in my room lol:crazy:
the voice a-like effect is cool to, try and make the kick a bit harder its a bit low/weak. youve worked well on the percussions... im not sure about the bassline... 2:35 that background synth is quite cool.. the break at 3:00 sounds a bit empty imo, try and fill it with some pads..
its a good experimental track and i like it. you were a bit minimal with the synths.. that was a bit:sadgreen: looking forward for the finished version! keep it up

bidor:)
