Blake and Mike - you guys both played really great sets, and did a phenomenal job opening for Dekay.

unfortunately... Dekay bored me to death. :(

he played quite a few good tracks, but for the most part i thought his programming was pretty unimpressive. i felt like a lot of the more "massive" tracks he played were just dropped at the wrong time and therefore did not go off as well as they could have. he also played way too many tracks that had cool elements to them, but they just didn't go anywhere. at one point i told Rob that it sounded like every track he was playing was produced by Remy & Roland Klinkenberg... that same repetitive percussion and boring melodies that don't really go anywhere. and the thing that probably bothered me most was that his mixing was not at all like the smooth, long, drawn-out Dekay mixing i'm used to.

maybe i set my expectations too high because i've been a huge fan of Dekay for a long time now. i've always loved his productions/remixes, Trousy was my favorite compilation CD from last year, and i've heard some amazing sets from him; including his show at Soundbar last October, which i thought was just a phenomenal set.

regardless of my opinion of Dekay's set, i had a great time hangin' out with all the TAs, as always! that's what made the night for me.

Yuris - thanks for your hospitality. we had a great time prepartying and afterpartying with you! your live commentary during American Ninja was one of the greatest things i have ever witnessed.

ok i'd write more but i'm sleepy.

:D
