Not a bad night. Only stayed in the main room.

Strangis - Only heard the last couple of tunes. Good tunes, not a big fan of his mixing. Bass over bass. Eww.
Matt Hardwick - Not bad, good tunes. Decent mixing, few clangers.
Above & Beyond - Awesome tunes. Good mixing, as expected.
Eddie Halliwell - Appreciate the technical skills. But there was just far too much noise and n around. Average tunes. Stop start, stop start. Repetitive noisy build ups. Very frustrating. Not my cup of tea.
Cosmic Gate - Was tired by the time they started. The first 30mins started really slow so I decided to leave. Not sure what the rest was like. Always well respected after their 3hr set at QBH some years ago.

sunhump vs touch me!

it's an armin mash up.

i had a fun night. mostly because i was just in a fun mood i guess, the music was okay.

hardwick was the set of the night for me. started with uplifting goodness then moved onto the pumping trance tunes. Nu NRG - freefall FTW!

a&b were okay. some good songs. some house mixing in there.

eddie was disapointing. too stop start. he would play real techy then start playin bangin trance for a few songs then he would go back to the tech. would have much prefered it had he just played bangin trance. also a few ups with mixing.

cosmic gate first hour was abit boring. second hour was pretty good, from when they played should have known onwards it was tune after tune. ive never heard exploration of space out so that was good :)

had a look at finjeman but there was just no atmosphere in there at all so didnt stay long.

was good to see scotty and ben, albeit briefly :)

No disrespect man, I am no DJ by any means and never will be. Ive been in the scene for a fair while and subsequently have a reasonably trained ear for DJing/mixing.

Sometimes with your transitions, you seem to put bass over bass, or too much overlap, or something which makes the bassline clip or cut in and out (heavy, light, etc). As a result it can sound a little 'messy', not as clean cut. Not all mixes, but some. Not sure if that is a 'morphing' transition/effect your trying to create?

Anyways, just my 2cents mate. Don't take it personally. My post earlier was quick and sleep deprived so it probably came across a little harsh.

could it have been the sound system setup on the bigger room???
Ghostface
lol sorry Steve but if you can't take a bit of criticism, warranted or not, then perhaps you should stop Djing in front of massive crowds as not everyone is going to like it 100% of the time, just the way it goes.

hardwick was ok, bit flat but in that timeslot you're pretty limited i guess. Above & Beyond played exactly as expected, pretty tight with lotsa anthems. Eddie halliwell, one of my favourite Djs bored the crap out of in the first hour. Fell alseep twice! Same boring trance, second hour was much better though. Bring on Pappa, Sasha and Digweed.

Hellraiser was a freak but where was all the black leather MisssyM hmmm? A boring grey t-shirt, not very demonic if you ask me. Nice to hear the speakers clipping too. There was one chick up the front with lotsa flouro necklaces and stuff who was a bit freaky but alas no werewolves in site, unless they had their phd hoodie pulled right over their faces like 90% of the people in there. :(

Awesome night.

and im pretty sure "cassandra fox - touch me" is a mike koglin vs jono grant remix

anyways i had a ball! thanks to the guys who came early for the support :D

Nah mate no train wrecks. I only caught your last 30mins. I think it was around Audioholics - External Key? (name?! nice touch btw). I think there is a mix on your GK CD which does the same with the varying bassline, Ill try and find the 2 tunes next time I listen to it.

Maybe you do it intentionally? I dunno, its probably just me, but a few things I appreciate in a good trance mix is keyed mixes, timing and clean change of bassline. When its sparatic especially with 10000+watts of subwoofer it doesnt sound as nice. Each to their own tho. :-)
BUzzER
above and beyond were alot better then i expected, playing some mad tunes and a sick version of "touch me", eddie halliwell i found realli good but more banging trance instead of the tech would have been better..cosmic gate were nuthin special...however the last 4 songs were increcible..The Drums 2005, Punk (cosmic gate remix), exploration of space and FIREWIRE! always wanted to hear them out.
