There needs to be better protection for cab drivers in this country. I hear another driver was bashed in Eltham last night and is fighting for his life. People make me sick with their pathetic behaviour. They need those bubbles like they have in Sydney!
While I totally agree with all you said, I'm not quite as sympathic as I was. After the Petter gig I wandered around the city in the rain for a 3/4 hr trying to get a cab. I had three who stopped, said where are you going , when I said Prahran they just drove off and left me standing in the rain!! I got in before the last one had time to ask. He was good , no silly questions about where I'd been etc. I always tip well if they don't talk to me!!

i always try and engage hte taxi driver in conversation (if they can speak english), i've heard some interesting and bizzarre stories over the years, like the political message behind System of a Down lyrics, the Evils of US foreign policy, 'why the am i working this job?', and horror stories taxi drivers have had with drunken idiots, etc

always a good way to kill time :)

That's great when I'm going out but not when I'm coming home at 6 in the morning. :whip: Actually last night the cabbie had the BBC Africa on,and it was quite amazing to listen their news without the filters we get. Not a happy place :(

Better protection?
One of the headfuk taxi drivers we had on the weekend is lucky he escaped with no real injury!
I can now really sympathise with people who want to bash the fuk out of some taxi drivers.

YES, some violence is uncalled for, but if any of you had the driver I had on the weekend, blood could have easily been shed!

:( :( :(

on the way out of QBH we hailed for a taxi and the idiot nearly caused two accidents trying to pull over, then was beeping for us to come back, we ran away and got another one....fkn idiot!

im sick of all the new generation of taxi drivers.

BRING BACK THE OLD GREEK GUYS!

they know their way around, and are always good for a yarn.

now its all these damn indian and asian student drivers. they dont know the most basic of directions (and , its adelaide, its SMALL) and can hardly speak english. ahh no tips for you bastards.
