Club246 Cancells Paradox!!

Club246 radio has cancalled Paul The Engineer's Paradox, The longest and the highest rated overnight radio show on Toronto airwaves.
It is not clear at this time weather Paul decided to leave Club246 on his own, or was forced out. It is also not clearn weather the show will continue on another station or is this the end for Paradox, just three episodes shy of its 350th episode.
This is a sad day for trance music lovers and supporters, Paradox was the only local radio show supporting this style of music. |

What do you expect? it is club246. has the worst rep for screwing dj's around. However, it's the only ing electronic music station around and it's not even on for the whole day.

That just sucks. Or will we not have to worry about it, cause everything will be digitalised?
Can someone explain the whole radio thing in simple lament terms? |

Paul will be back Thursday night on a New station, Energy 105.1FM
However what about all the rest of the DJs. Not only did Paradox get axed, the entire internet side got taken off as well, they had over 30 DJs doing shows on the internet for them for free and this is how they repay them??
I have lost all the respect for Club246 I will never ever listen to them again. Don't worry Toronto they are no longer the only Dance Music station in Toronto. Energy 105 is coming up and they're going to be bigger and better than 246, hopefully they will treat their DJs better as well. |

Rumours, Rumours and more Rumours.
I am sad to see Paul leave the station as well. He is a great friend of mine. This is not our decision but Pauls. The reason for our shows and our company is to propel people into the main markets and provide a stepping stone for their careers. In no way would we want to keep anyone behind. We also however would not keep anyone on board while they are with a competitor, thats just basic business.
Paul chose to leave as he has a better offer and wants to expand his career. I wish him the best of luck and want to offer anyone a chance to listen to him on other stations.
As far as treating DJS muffin, we treat them better than any other station of this kind. There is no ample amount of money to pay everyone, and there certainly isn't enough marketing in the overnights to keep everyone on.
The internet isn't a one way track, we did it for 5 years, and have had many djs on board who have put in endless amounts of effort and energy but so have we.
We have also given them a platform to showcase their talents, and if it wasn't benificial on both ends , they wouldn't have done it.
The street goes both ways. We thank them and wish them all great luck.
The internet in todays world has too many shows, and we cannot compete or provide the level of service that many can. There are just too many channels.
I wish everyone the best of luck in trying these avenues, and when you have spent 5 years trying to make it happen, come back to this thread and give me your input.
If you do not wish to listen to our FM station, I hold no harsh feelings as we live in Canada and its a free country. |
