From my experience, girls from all girl schools are more likely to be loose in their teens, mainly due to the 'OH MY GAWD! A MAYN!!' syndrome the become affected by due to lack of male interaction.
I know this because I had 2 gfs from one, and they were freaky as ! |

I dont think the type of school you send you child to would have much influence in regards to this. Growing up I remember tons of girls that went to private schools, all girls school or even religious schools and most of them were sluts. Due to the fact that they were so deprived of boys they rebelled by ing LOTS of em.
They only pretended to be perfect and innocent to they're parents.
Then you also have the case of the spoiled rich kids in those types of schools that think they can do whatever they want (those kids usually get the BEST drugs). |

good post.
I'm amazed at the hypocrisy of people who preach "Do as I say, don't do what I do." |

Obviously it wasn't effective for the previous generation, why would it be effective now? And in fact in a girls-only school it would be even more of a 'forbidden fruit', I'm amazed how some people are naive. |

Although this is something I fight against, I've always noticed that religious people seem to be quite "unreligious" when it comes to sex, almost as if being religious was an excuse for being a full-time "sinner". |

like I said, she is not going to be so sheltered that she won’t know what a boy is. I’m not that stupid. She will have a social life including boys and she’ll be allowed to have boyfriends and all that. this isn’t about trying to keep her a virgin…I was just pointing out that during the week in school, she should be there to learn, not to have the coolest outfit, the latest gossip, a boyfriend walking her to every class where they make out, etc…that’s not school, that’s a social life…and sadly, that’s how it is in public schools.
Just because she’ll go to an all girls school, doesn’t mean it’s going to be out in some isolated area where she’ll never see a boy or anything like that. Trust me, I know I haven’t exactly been an angel, but I have the right idea about raising kids for some reason. I’m not too strict, but I’m principled and I’m not going to have some typical, disrespectful slutty and/or “badass” daughter or son. My kids aren’t going to have their own TVs with cable/Tivo, a cell phone, a laptop, a brand new car, etc…they’re not going to be 14 years old with their own internet access and myspace pages for perverts to look at. just stuff like that, i am strict on because i know how i was and what i was exposed to. i dont think i'm going to be able to keep my kids from doing things like trying pot and having sex though. i will keep a good enough relationship with them to where they will feel comfortable coming to me with certain issues, like my mom was with me. when i lost my virginity, i told her, and she put me on birth control right away without yelling at me or anything. she lectured a little bit about safe sex and stuff, but that was it. that's how i want to be with my daughter. |

i agree.
i went to a public school in a pretty poor community, and didn't even touch drugs until after i graduated and started hanging out with rich kids at my friend's college. i was a pretty tame girl... i mean i was no angel, i got into my fair share of trouble, but it wasn't nearly as bad as the things i heard about from my friends at private schools.
if was going to have kids, i would be a pretty leniant parent. i think the more restrictions you put on a child, the more they want to rebel. my mom was very leniant with me and let me have a LOT of freedom when i was young. she was very open and straightforward with me about what is right and wrong, and ever since i was a very little kid she educated me to always be able to make my own decisions. she put a lot of trust in me instead of putting rules and restrictions on everything i do, and in return, i repaid her by being a smart and responsible kid. i knew that if i betrayed her trust, she wouldn't let me have as much freedom as i had, and i didn't want to lose that freedom.
granted not everyone can be raised like that... but it seemed to work fine for my family.
a perfect example of too much structure would be my cousin. her parents were so strict that they held her back a grade because they thought she wasn't ready for high school, she was never allowed to go to parties or go out with boys, she had a very strict curfew, and basically just didn't have any freedom... then when she went away to college, within her first semester she had experimented with a few different drugs, had sex with multiple partners including a three-some with her roommate, and got drunk almost every single night. |
