been working on this for a while, while working on my other tracks. finally got it finished. some small additions i have to make but this is practicallt the final version.
All feedback appreciated and returned!

Listening now...I think the arp sound could use more delay on it. Nice bassline coming in. Good atmosphere, but I barely feel it. A little too repetitive atm (1:55 mark). New hihat patterns coming in. 2:17 or somewhere a nice trance pluck sound. Sounds like superwave to me :D. Breakdown is starting. I think those strings can really be put more out into the front. Great fx usage. OOOOOOO nice chord progression. I really like this. If only there was a good atmosphere to build this all up with. No tension in the breakdown. Kinda disappointing. I was expecting so much with that awesome trance pluck. The bassline really could use a note progression right now. 5:30 into it and it's starting to get repetitive again. Track is almost done? Awwww so disappointing in my eyes. I hear so many great ideas and then it doesn't go wrong, but it just seems like everything dies down. I feel like the energy and power behind everything just goes "blah." I sense great potential in this track if the breakdown has a little more creativity and intensity and the bassline changes note progression. Otherwise awesome track.

| cheers man! yea a bit more work needs to be done on it. the breakdown does need to be more intense noticed that myself. going to try and make it more powerful sounding. |

| hi barry, mystify is a really nice track, (quite van dyk) not a bad thing!! lol. the kick/roll at 4mins coming out of the brake probably needs work, a brighter build. this track has very good potential. i assume it's the first edit, and with some work could become a killer trance track. |

nice middy kickdrum. loads of presence.
this sounds damn professional. i like the buildup. you re introducing the sounds nicely. the blippy melody works well with the bassy synth. they create a good drive.
i hear a m.i.k.e style arrangement. id probably increace the vol on the blippy synth. it gets lost a bit when other elements are introduced.
main lead.. i like. maybe a tiny bit too dry.. but not much!
melody - i like it. but i would change it so the last bar on it goes up some notes instead of down..if ya know wht i mean. so it becomes more uplifting..
beat comes in. dont use the main lead at the start .. slowly introduce it again i think.
overall this is your best
i await the finished piece mate

Nice buildup in the beginning! There it is at 2:14 - the anticipation! I'm waiting....waiting....hearing it around 3:00.....BAM!!! There it is at 3:40...nice!!! Very nice indeed!
Overall, this is a great tune. It takes a while to build up, but I really like it when it does. Good job! Keep up the good work! |

As Lindo said nice trance pluck line comming in around the 2mins17-20sec mark.
Infact Id go further than that and say one of the nicest lil synthlines Iv heard in a while on any track, period!
Id use a different progression in it however (just a matter of musical taste).
Which brings me to my point :D I think that trance pluck line is/could be phenominal and Id love to get hold of that track and remix it.
Iv no track record in remixing though but my remix of Hybrasils new single will be getting dj/club release in about six weeks.
If you like the remix maybe youd consider letting me have a go at remixing that track?
If not no worries, I just think it has great potential (not saying it isnt already a great track) in regards to what I personally look for in music so Im just chancing me arm basically :D

the kick is solid. love the sort of pastoral melody of the beginning. i like the metallic sweeps you bring in during those parts. the drive and rhythm is good and commanding. i like the piano melody you bring in a lot. keeps it from being overly robotic. the break is smooth. this is minor, but i would bring your re-entry in with a stutter drum or something. maybe put a little more lfo on the oscillator of that lead synth that comes in after the beat comes back in. it's a little casio as is. maybe an lfo on the pitch with a nice delay so it only shows on the longer notes. just a thought. nice ending.
good track good job. the bass is solid, but maybe a touch of distortion more for interest. |
